Feature request: Please improve chamber heating logic.

Prusament PC blend bed temp preset is 110°C for the first layer, then 115°C   (slightly odd)

In case I selected to preheat, preheating for PC print is set to something lower.

So I print; the printer should close the top vent while preheating, always.  (also for preheating for PC) In reality, this means, I wait, long, for the chamber temperature to rise.

Feature request: while waiting for chamber to reach target - the printer should close the vent, and go for maximum bed temperature(or at least the higest involved), maybe until 3°C below target chamber temperature.

As-is : the printer may complain about not reaching temperature, while heating bed to lower temperature than max, and having the vent open.

Prusa doesn't listen to requests on this forum. For automatic vent open/close, have a look at this thread:  https://forum.prusa3d.com/forum/prusa-core-one-general-discussion-announcements-and-releases/core-one-auto-vent-opening/#post-779242

I've printed a lot of PC recently and that first layer/second layer change is important for PC filaments. This setup is trading a slightly weaker initial binding to the plate for better long-term flatness and stress control. Starting at a lower temp for the first layer reduces early thermal shock and expansion, then stepping the temperature once the part is anchored to the bed helps keep the entire print hot and stress-relieved which is necessary to control warping.

Also, maintaining a high chamber temperature is important. I throw an insulating blanket on the top of my printer to get the temp close as possible to 60°.

Thanks for sharing. I failed to get decent bed adhesion for PC with the Prusament PC profile on the Prusa satin sheet  (it failed in the very first 2-3 layers every time)  I also tried 115/115° instead of 110/115° , but it certainly did not help.  proper cleaning with IPA did not help.

Did you use the Prusament PC (which is supposed to stick better) - or another surface?

You either need to use an adhesive such as Magigoo PC or a different type of plate. I use a Garolite G10 plate with a rigid steel backing and Vision Miner Nano Polymer adhesive.

PC on Satin sheet ... is not really a thing?

Depends on the size and geometry of the part. For smaller parts the satin sheet should be OK if it is super clean (IPA is not good enough). IPA does not properly clean a satin sheet. Only dish detergent or Windex (ammonia based glass cleaner) can do that.

Larger parts will require an  adhesive to keep them from warping off the plate as well a brim and possibly mouse ears. Also very large parts with adhesive can cause the part to bend the sheet off the bed. For smaller parts I would recommend the Cryogrip over Satin. Larger parts I would suggest a G10 sheet with a very rigid backing and not spring steel.
