Change Filament doesn't heat the extruder?

Tried to change filaments this morning on my Core ONE V5.4.0, by selecting 'Change Filament' in menu.  The printer immediately tried to unload the filament without first heating the extruder.  Naturally this didn't work at all.  Selecting 'Unload Filament' and then 'Load Filament' works, but 'Change Filament' seems broken.  Anyone else see this?

RE:

When a print stops normally or a pause occurs, the filament is retracted from the nozzle. So when you unload the filament it doesn't have to heat the nozzle. Change Filament and Unload Filament have different behaviors. Change Filament checks to see if the filament sensor is registering the presence of filament before it reverses the nextruder gear to eject it whereas Unload Filament does this unconditionally. That is it reverses the motor whether there is filament in there or not. If there is no filament detected, then it will heat the nozzle before reversing the nextruder. This seems counter-intuitive but it implies that the filament has already been unloaded and there is instead perhaps a different filament that was loaded that wasn't saved when the printer was last shutdown.

This might imply though that there is an issue with the Nextruder filament sensor. Try running the calibration.

Ah, thanks - that makes sense ... sorta.  I hate it when my 3D printer is smarter than me (although I do admit that is pretty low bar) 🙂
