RE: What happened with this print?

@foxrun3d, this is a dead link

Yeah, this website noticed we we're pissing all over it, so it decided to have its revenge but adding the closing parenthesis to the URL...

Try this:

https://www.printables.com/model/1284808

Somehow the trailing bracket is including itself in the link, delete that and the link is fine - but you're unlikely to need it if you keep your filaments properly dry.

RE: What happened with this print?

I tried again tonight but with one print part instead of multiple like yesterday. I imported the model fresh from printables into my slicer.box-storage_round-2
I first dried my PETG for 8 hours at 55º. Next I cleaned my satin sheet with IPA, and scrubbed my nozzle with a brass brush.
Any ideas on what is wrong? I've attached (I hope) the .3mf as a zip box-storage_round-2.zip

I contacted Prusa CS --it was the thumb screws. They were loose. It is printing beautifully again. I never touched the thumbscrews. I don't know how they loosened. The Prusa rep said they shouldn't loosen just from printing.

At least now I got some troubleshooting experience.

Yes. I was going to say exactly that, your nozzle was loose and was dragging through the layers. Before I start a print I generally check the belt tension and nozzle position.

Do they just get loose over time?

Not sure about how often they can work themselves loose. I change nozzles quite frequently so I'm always loosening and tightening the thumbscrews.

If the screws are properly tightened (with your fingers, not with a tool) they shouldn't come loose. At least it's never happened to me. And another advantage of the C1 is that the screws are not under any cover and there's no problem checking the tightness before printing if you have these problems. A few touches with your fingers are all you need.

RE: What happened with this print?

I did notice on one of my Core Ones that the thumbscrews came a bit loose. I had forgotten about it but now that I was reminded of it, it did create an issue similar to what the OP saw. Haven't had an issue with that machine after retightening them. And I usually check them as part of regular maintenance.

My Core One was an assembled one. I did read somewhere that assembled units were shipping with loose thumbscrews. Foolishly I thought if I am reading this then Printed Solid must know about it and corrected this oversight. Wrong!

RE: What happened with this print?

One mistake people make is when changing out a nozzle, forgetting to loosen the thumbscrews. I did that early on and damaged a thumbscrew enough that it wouldn't stay tight and I had to replace it.
