Okay I can't say for sure that the prints are worse as I think this is the only part where it's been noticeable, but it's making more noise now I'm certain.
I didn't really have any issues with my kit-built Core One previously. The only thing would be that when printing during the night, there were some vibrations that annoyed me too much to fall asleep in another room even when it ran on stealth mode. I later found that it was the non-print travel at 350mm/s that created those noises, so I decreased that to like 120-150 when I knew that I would print at night.

Anyway I had read that the accelerometer and the calibrations could make it even more quiet and perhaps make the prints even better.

I received the accelerometer and the lubrication set for the linear rail, put in a little grease into the carriage. Then I made sure the belts were tightened correctly and installed the accelerometer and ran the input shaper and phase stepping.

After this I printed a benchy and it felt almost like the printer was a little quieter, couldn't say that print quality changed at all when comparing though.

after a few days I was printing some other stuff and certain motion was really loud every now and then, also these circular parts came out with wavy outer walls that I can even feel by hand. I compared to another object from a few months ago in the same white PLA that had larger round corners and they looked great, nothing like this.

What to do think could cause this and do you have any suggestions what to do first? I was thinking I'd check the belts again, maybe clean and lubricate the Y rods, run the calibrations again with the accelerometer. I just wanted to hear if you've heard these noises before and knew what to look for.

Hey, i am having similar issues but cant say if its the input shapping to blame.

I also did more or less what you did for servicing the device, was quite happy for a couple of weeks and then the noises started, similar to yours.

Its very specific and motion related, some prints are totaly smooth and quiet, others are just like your video....

VFAs are quite bad, will post an image of the latest prints when i go back home.
Belts are tightened, but i will try a new head calibration to see if it changes anything, maybe i swapped nozzles and it doesnt like it?

I also have a loose back left pulley, for some reason it can go up and down by 1mm maybe and i cant tighten it, like the screw threads are not catching at all.

These are my findings after printing a VFA tower, best results are with faster speeds, but when the model has to slow down, there is not much we can do about it...
Best VFAs performance at 340mm/s, 27.2mm3/s i think, in all axis, worst VFAs 300mm/s, 24mm3/s

Regarding the noise:

About 200mm/s

About 240mm/s

About 480mm/s

As you can hear the noise levels are variable depending on both speed and axis, would love to have more people share their results so we can compare and maybe troubleshoot.

I loosened my belts all the way and checked that the gantry was square, cleaned the Y smooth rods and put on some new grease. I then tightened the belts again but this time with the belt tuning wizard instead of the app which I've only used before. The belts didn't get as tight as when I did it with the phone app, I think around 90-92hz and it said that it was good. I also tried what is suggested here: Link. Then ran the calibrations again with the accelerometer.

It's better again now, I don't know what happened and why it got so loud before. Maybe it's not perfect now either but definitely better.

Did not make any noticable difference in my case after all, will leave it as is as long as it moans but prints ok...

6.5.3 fixed a bug where input shaping was being applied to the wrong axis. You can try the beta to see if it improves the print quality issues: https://forum.prusa3d.com/forum/prusa-core-one-general-discussion-announcements-and-releases/6-5-3-beta-firmware-for-prusacore-one/

 

Regarding noise, one thing I think improved it on mine was making sure the gantry does not skew when applying tension to the belts. What I do is:

  1. loosen the belts completely (but without removing the tension screws, just making the belts loose)
  2. move the print head to the middle and to the front of the printer.
  3. check if both left and right sides of the gantry touch the ends. if not, twist the gantry so that it does (I had to do it initially). If the belts have a bit of tension, you may need to hold the print head gently against the front (but be very gentle, otherwise you will "override" the skew).
  4. start tensioning the screws, alternating 1/2 a turn on each side.
  5. when the belts start to get a bit of tension, check for play on the sides (like you did on on step 3). If one of the sides hits but the other has a bit of play (even if just a tinny tinny bit), loosen the screw on the opposite side (the one with no play) in small steps, until there is no play again. It is very important that there is really no play.
  6. when there is no play, continue tightening the belts. if they seem to have a normal tension, start the tension wizard (either the phone one or the built-in one).
