Where to find images from the Buddy3D camera

Hello, it's been 10 days since I installed my Prusa Core One, with the Buddy3D camera, I added an SD card, I can see the images in the Prusa Connect interface every 20-30 seconds, but I don't know where to find the images made during printing, to see the time lapse? Thank you for your help.

There are no pictured stored and there is no timelapse function.

Hello!

The Buddy3D camera on your Prusa Core One connected to Prusa Connect provides periodic snapshots for monitoring, not a saved time-lapse video. The camera's SD card is for firmware recovery, not image storage. To create time-lapses, you'd currently need to explore third-party solutions involving additional hardware like a Raspberry Pi and software like OctoPrint, as Prusa Connect doesn't have a built-in time-lapse saving feature for the Buddy3D camera. Keep an eye on Prusa Research for potential future updates to Prusa Connect.

Is it just me, or is the Buddy3D camera disappointing in almost every respect? Requires a separate WiFi connection and can't be used via Ethernet; requires PrusaConnect to view; delivers one frame every x seconds; black & white images only; can't store time-lapse images despite the built-in SD card slot.

Even if this was a rushed development to enable Prusa to "check the box" on the spec sheet, I would have expected something a bit more useful. Is there anything they implemented properly in this camera?

That's why I also installed an Esp32 cam in the Core One.
It has already proven itself in the MK4.

I designed the housing for it myself. The Esp32 cam is available for little money and the firmware is now fully developed.

I am very disappointed by the Buddy3d Camera too.

The image quality is ok, but I get an image every 5-15 seconds or sometimes the printer goes "offline" while printing and then delivers no more images at all. Black and white is okey, but I feel this should have been mentioned on the product-page before ordering.

My Core One camera once went colour for around 20 seconds when the clouds were moving and sunlight shone directly on the core one.

It was a beautiful moment, I’ll remember those 20 second (2 entire frames) for the rest of my life.

I noticed that the camera switches to a color image if you have a light background with a larger area.

You can test this by holding a large, white sheet of paper in the printer. You can then hear the camera click when it switches back from night vision and vice versa.

You will then also have a colored image. At least for a moment 😆
