RE: Ugly walls
well my 2nd upgrade kit is still in the box if that tells you anything. I haven't noticed any wall issues with though. I printed almost 70 shelf pieces in PETG-CF and they turned out really good. I'm not a fan of having to mod the printer to get get results with tpu though. I print enough tpu that it's a factor. I'm a prusa fan myself but if I have to buy another printer I might look around now that there's competition. I doubt I'd get a bambulabs because I don't want a phone home to beijing but there's interesting contenders out there now so might be worth a look. Having had my XL for a couple years now I don't think I could go back to a single extruder with multiple colors solution like an mmu. It would be strange going away from a prusa but if things keep on this trajectory it might be something I look at.
RE: Ugly walls
CF hides alot, try printing a tall 2cm cylinder in shiny petg, black or white.
I agree that calling to China is not a good thing. For now i have put it in LAN mode blocking any traffic in firewall.
I’m still eyeballing the Core One since I love the repairability (i also built a voron trident)
RE: Ugly walls
repairability and upgradability is a big draw to prusa for me. It would feel wierd at this point to something from another manufacturer. Despite how it was at the beginning, the XL is pretty rock solid now. Hopefully the core one will be the same way eventually. Both my core one and my MK4S started life as an MK3S, so it's pretty cool being able to upgrade from one version to the next.

You may say that it's none of my business, but if you managed to build a Voron Trident, I dont see why you should bother with a Prusa Core One,

Some people (e.g. me) like to build things, use them for a short time and then it goes in the corner. That was the case with the MK4 kit. After I built it, I printed various things I downloaded and then it collected dust. With the Core One, I finally get what all of the fuss is about and I do a lot of designing and printing now to support my other hobbies. I also design and print things for people in my astronomy club. Recently I built a Micron+ but have no need for a 2nd printer so I gave it to my niece. Well I do (now) own a second printer but it's an SLA.
RE: Ugly walls
It's funny how that goes. I had no need for any 3d printers, then I got an MK3s years ago. That turned in two with an MMU, and then I got the XL 5t lol
Once you have one you(or your spouse) find out how much you can do with them lol. My wife loves me to print tpu things without realizing how much of a pain in the A$$ it can be sometimes. I finally tamed it on the XL and on the MK3(then MK4s). The core one will probably be that way eventually, but it's so annoying you have to mod it to get it to print tpu reasonably. I wonder sometimes if prusa prints anything tpu before the sell a new model.
