Tons of little hole in smooth PEI sheet?

I built my core one, set it up printing = happy (for the most part Prusa connect keeps randomly disconnecting but prusalink works so i don't mind)

However, I flipped over my smooth PEI sheet, and I can see tons of little irregular shaped holes. (see pics)

these holes also appear on the other side but way less. Is this to be expected? Did I do something wrong?

BTW this is the first time I printed on this side that's why I noticed it only after starting a print.

I don't think it should be that way, maybe try to change the z offset of the printer?

the sheet was like this before printing on it. so, the holes aren't from the nozzle. After printing on it I see no holes in the first layer of my prints, so no real quality impact.

Somehow the holes disturb me though, its unsettling to look at.

I've never seen that on any smooth sheet, I would guess that it's a manufacturing defect.

I also had a problem way back with my MK4 randomly disconnecting from Prusa Connect. What turned out to be the issue was that my router was blocking some of the network traffic that was used by the Prusa, somehow. Prusa support was very helpful with providing port info etc on which ports needed to be opened in the router settings, but I was considering changing router anyway so I just ended up replacing the router and it solved the problem.

If you want to try to see if you've got the same issue, I can recommend connecting the printer to a hotspot with your cell phone when you've got mobile data on. If that doesn't have connection issues, the problem is most likely with whatever router you've got in your home.

You and me both - it makes me feel ill to look at that. I get the same with anything that has lots of tiny holes!

Nothing to worry about. PEI is a plastic sticker that is glued to the steel sheet. Those "bubbles" are where the glue hasn't evenly spread.

With repeated heat/cool cycles they should disappear. They won't affect printing in the slightest.

Materials like PETG can grip the PEI so tightly they lift the sticker from the sheet. Worst case, torn PEI sticker. Best case, even more bubbles.
