Question about PETG and Advanced Filter
Hello. I typically print in PLA. But I bought some PETG and I recently installed the advanced air filter.
My settings for the filter are set to "AUTO".
I am watching my print, and while I feel the air blowing out of the advanced filter (I presume using the internal fan on that) the two fans inside the chamber that feed the filter are not blowing. Is this normal? Or are there settings I need to change in Prusa Slicer?
I ask because there are still quite the odors. And that makes me very nervous. Fortunately, it's in the garage. But still.
Dry PETG shouldn't generate dangerous amounts of VOCs or particles. If you can smell it you probably need to dry it more.
Cheerio,

The two fans are no longer being used so that's normal.

RE: Question about PETG and Advanced Filter
Well, that's good. I was concerned something was wrong lol.
The smell might be in my head... It's in the garage, and I have a bit of a sinus issue at the moment. But that was a bit of an oder, and I was cooking it for like 8 hours.
As a side: My dryer says PLA cooks at 50C and to set it to 45C if drying while printing. I didn't see such a note for PETG, so I assume if I dry while printing I just use the defaults?
RE:
PETG requires a bit higher temps for the bed and extruder, so things may smell 'off' as the printer bakes (think new car or new oven smells). As stated above, PETG generally is almost odorless, very much like PLA. Try printing a bit of ABS or ASA, that should calibrate your nose to what really smells.
