RE: Question about lubricants for linear rail.

As I Kluber microlube is unavailable/expensive to get, I also looked at some alternatives. What about Kroon ball bearing grease for the x axis? It's readily available in the Netherlands and also quite cheap. The viscosity is lower but still in the range of the other alternatives.

Specs:
N.L.G.I. Class 2 DIN 51 502, KP 2 K-30

Penetration 25 °C, 0,1 mm: 280

Dripping point, 190 °C

Temperature range: -30/130 °C

Base oil viscosity, 40 °C:  195 mm²/s

4-ball welding load:  2600 N

RE: Question about lubricants for linear rail.

Searching through many forums and discussions, I keep finding that Super Lube with PTFE is recommended for CNC, 3D FDM and Resin printers I have.

So many recommendations without trials. I am moving to Poly bearings so this may not be a question in the future.

RE: Question about lubricants for linear rail.

Kluber is very proud of their greases and charges accordingly. The 261 is way cheaper if you buy a larger amount. It would be great if a small group bought a cartridge and divided it up. The rail is THK and they have specific greases for it. I have to believe they know best, but I don't know if the greases are easily available or how much they cost. https://www.thk.com/jp/en/products/accessories_for_lubrication/thk_original_grease/

Misumi also sells them- https://us.misumi-ec.com/vona2/detail/221000092815/?seriesCode=221000092815&tab=catalog&Page=1

This is a case where, though I'm a big fan, I wouldn't use Superlube and I wouldn't assume compatibility with what's in there. I suspect the rail was lubricated by THK, not Prusa, but anything is possible.
