Print failure troubleshooting
that has happened multiple times over the past few days
Hi Folks,
I use a Core One + that I got in December 2025. In the last few days my prints have been increasingly turning out defects like the one in the picture.sometimes this appears in the first layer and other times a vertical edge will be jagged or look like someone has scarred it.
I have tried:
- wiping the sheet with IPA
- switching yo an unused printsheet
- running the z-axis calibration test
- resetting the z-axis nuts and lubing them
I use prusament PLA and PETG extruding from a drybox at 32% humiddity.
Any suggestions for resolving this would be greatly appreciated.
RE: Print failure troubleshooting
Try cleaning the build sheet with hot water, dishwashing detergent and a clean (new) sponge or brush. Wiping with IPA will only remove some of the residues and re-distribute the rest.
Also, is that drybox just a tightly sealed box with desiccant or and actively heated dryer? The desiccant boxes are good at keeping dry filament dry, but cannot efficiently extract water from the polymer matrix once it has been absorbed. And you cannot be sure the filament is dry to start with, even when freshly unpacked from a sealed plastic bag. Try drying the filament in a heated dryer for a few hours, at 50°C for PLA or 60°C for PETG.
