Oddball Layer Shift on First Layer - Prusa Slicer / Core One

Folks,

Anyone have any ideas why fw 6.4.0 would cause this issue?

The printer just started doing this and I've done all of the obvious things, such as calibrating everything and, prior, adjusting the belts.

It's just plain odd.

Also, it won't let me downgrade the firmware to see if it's a glitch...

Ok, it's gets more interesting... while watching the printing take place... the print head rapidly jumped 7mm to the right while still printing the first layer.

What the hell is going on here?  Moreover, I dont appear to be able to down grade the firmware to 6.3.x.

To downgrade, if I remember correctly, you push the knob in while boot the printer. That will force it to load whatever firmware version is on the USB.

I don't think this is a firmware issue. Check to see if the umbilical/PTFE is sagging and getting caught between the print head and the X motor.

FWIW, I really hate that Prusa is still calling these X and Y motors instead of A and B... but I digress...

Wilco on the PTFE. (...and thanks in general.)

I have a test print going on in the middle of the build plate and it's just working without issue so far...

You win! Hyiger once again provides the best answer!! 😉  Damn PTFE had shifted, somehow. from the MMU connection and was getting caught at the extreme edge of the rear left of the build plate.

Thank you sir!

yup... this failure mode (umbilical sagging) is provoked by using  the back left corner of the printing plate.
