MMU3 Layer shift On core one 6.4.0-alpha

Goodday,

Today i had an massive layer shift while printing with the core one mmu. Only optioun i always use is the sparse layer on the wipe tower.

Is this a one time occasion? I have been printing daily for to months and this never happened before.

I upgraded to new 6.4.0-alpha yesterday could that be the issue.

I already printing these minions once succesfully, but that was an other gcode.

Thanks in advance,

Stefan

Hmm it is happening again.

I think it is this blob on the wipe tower that causes it. I can hear the head crashing into it.

The only thing i changed after the correct 3x minion print was up the purge voumes from 100mm3 to 140-180mm3 because color was not ok.

It seems to happen on after the fast unload wipe before it starts ramming. there is an slow movement in between and there it happens.

Have you found an answer to this yet? I have also experienced the same layer shifts from hitting the blob created in the wipe tower.

No i did not find an answer. Haven't printed with the mmu alot since. It happens every time though.

I do not do a lot of mmu prints.

Mainly use the mmu the load al spools from different buildplate and then assembly the print. I like to assemble things. 😁

RE:

Layer shiftI too am having layer shift. It is happening over and over again. I have had the printer running just fine for the past few weeks and all of a sudden im getting layer shift. Not at the same layer either. I have tightened the belts and ran a test print and that came out just fine. Then I change the filament to my specialty filament and run and sure enough i get a layer shift.

Is there any way for me to find out which was the last layer printed and start remove the shift and restart from a specific layer ?

How do you turn on crash detection? It doesnt seem to be showing or i cant find it.

Single material, .4 nozzle .25 layer height. PLA Silk and dont see any warping. NEED HELP fixing please

I have had the same problem several times on the core one.
I don’t know why the blob occurs in the wipe tower, but I could see the layer shift happened there

It never happened on my mk4s.
So now I do most of my multicolor prints on the mk4s and only single Color on the core one.

Please try the 6.4.0-RC firmware first. If still an issue, you can submit a bug report here: https://github.com/prusa3d/Prusa-Firmware-Buddy/issues Click on the green "New Issue" button at the right of the screen.

I tried 6.4.0. the day it released and haven't encountered the layer shift anymore.
I have not just the mmu much since either. Just for 3 or 4 models.

I think it helped.
