Hot end thermistor reading high

Hello,

My Core One's hot end thermistor is reading high (70C at idle) after I had a power outage while it was heating up for a print. The nozzle itself is cool to the touch and I have tried to reset it by turning it off and on again. I attempted to run the heater callibration and it fails the extruder heating section returns a X. Wondering if anyone could help me out.

RE: Hot end thermistor reading high

There seems to be a quality issue with the hotend thermistors - mine failed after 40h. Resistance infinite. The grub screw was extremely tight and I was unable to take the thermistor out. Got a new hotend - thermistor DOA, this time I was able to take the thermistor out of the hotend, but still the grub screw has left a significant dent.

I guess someone is a bit overmotivated....

Mine too went faulty after a couple of months. Was reading around 500 ohms, support sent out a new one which works fine. Being curious I noticed that when held at a certain angle the faulty one would read ok...the wires from the actual thermistor are ridiculously thin single copper strand..so it's no surprise that they break. Mine must've been just holding on by a tiny amount of copper for the resistance to read so high.
Need to be extremely careful anytime you're taking the hotend out for any reason.

My print failed after 20h. I seems like the thermistor failed, nozzles temp went down and filament stuck.

No thermistor shows 299° but the nozzle is cold.

Talked to support. They will send me a new thermistor.
