filament broke in about 5 places in filament tube. how do i remove it?
I honestly have no idea how this happened. filament wont load or unload because of it.

remove the Bowden tube from the top of the Nextruder. First pull up the Bowden bend to expose the tube, push down on the retaining ring to release and will pushing it, pull out the tube. Then push in filament from the right side which will then push out the broken pieces. I'm assuming the filament that broke is very old PLA?

Yes what he suggested works. It happens to me all the time of PLA sits in the Bowden tube for a couple of weeks.
