Errors when trying to print ABS and high bed temp

Hi,

I've never had bed leveling errors printing PLA and PETG, and on trying my first ABS print--which needs 100+C bed temp--I'm getting repeated bed leveling errors (won't pass) and on re-trying a few times I got a nozzle cleaning error too. I don't see any residue around the nozzle and had brushed it after loading the ABS filament. I've tried with Prusa textured sheet as well as Cryogrip.

I've seen suggestions online like adusting the nozzle down by 1mm, but where would people suggest I start?

Thanks.

Run a z-axis calibration and try again - hopefully that's all it takes to resolve. It's surprisingly easy to muck up by putting pressure on the plate and a quick recal fixes it. I've had no issues printing ASA - in fact it's been the least troublesome filament I've used so far.

Thanks. I spent time with Prusa chat support (which was really helpful) and it's possibly an issue with the loadcell cable. Did the loadcell, z axis and homing - all worked fine - it's the probing/bed leveling that fails every time with ABS. A replacement loadcell cable is on its way and will update after that.

I wouldn't be certain it's the load cell cable. I would assume it's the heat block assembly heater element PWM signal interfering with the load cell. This seems to be a common problem with the Core One's. There are two types of fixes (one's really a work-around), the first is to remove the 4 heater wires from the umbilical (main cable) connector and twist +/- together in 2 pairs then reinsert. The other is a g-code patch to turn off the nozzle heating prior to doing bed leveling and nozzle cleaning. This also works but is not ideal. Both approaches are described in detail in the thread "Z axis calibration issues" and elsewhere. The upcoming 6.4.0 firmware has patches to address this issue.

Thanks. I am thinking the same now, still waiting on the load cell cable replacement but I just did a PLA print and it finished up totally fine, no issues with the bed leveling or anything. When I was trying the ABS it would go through the first 13-14 of the 35 probes quite quickly and then started going round and round in circles on each probe thereafter, taking 15+mins to then throw error on the bed leveling.

I'll look at those fixes and try the re-twisting of the wires. I do have the RC firmware update 6.4.0-RC+11796 already installed, should that have corrected for these issues or is there an imminent fix to be released?

Thanks - JW
