Core One to Core One + upgrade success stories?

Reading some war stories regarding seized nets, issues releasing the PTFE retainers (I've tried for other reasons and mine has not cooperated), and general 'must tear everything apart for access,'  I'm wondering if anyone has any hints for how to most successfully apply the + upgrades... lol.

Getting old and impatient sucks. 😲

Well, I am not sure what there is in the '+' !   So I have not done it yet.

The new bayonet support looks nice.  That might solve the problem with my Hatchbox spools falling off the side of the machine !

The automated vent opener/closer looks nice. But I am just leaving mine open right now as I am just printing PLA.  So I don't have a rush to do that.

The revised switch for FLEX might be nice.  But I am not yet printing flex filaments, so I don't have a rush to do that.

At $9.99 for the parts, I will probably just buy them rather print them in PLA or to buy the spools to get the special filament.

I've installed all of the Core One+ parts (self printed) and there is no need to remove the panels (as per Prusa's instructions). For the side sensor upgrade, removing the PTFE simply requires pushing in the collet with a fingernail and then pulling out the tube. The only difficult part was lining up the screw holes to attach the door handle to it. I didn't like the idea of printing it in PETG given that part of the filament path is outside of the PTFE tubes so it can engage the steel ball to lift the sensor arm. I print some very abrasive filaments so I printed it instead with PC Blend.

I upgraded all my CORE Ones, parts printed myself. I did remove the side panels, not sure it's absolutely necessary but wanted enough space to work.

No issues with the new auto vent but the instructions were apparently written by an intern, not up to par with most of Prusa documentation. Best thing to do is look carefully at the pictures in the upgrade manual.

The new filament sensor is okay but my problem has never been TPU getting stuck at the side filament sensor, it's getting it into the main extruder filament sensor, so no real change here. One of my machines gave me sensor errors after the upgrade, and it took me forever to figure out that I didn't tighten the screw that holds the sensor enough, so it was kind of wobbly and seized up in the inserted position.

I for one am not a fan of the new spool holder. Not sure what problem it's trying to solve but many of my spools feel more wobbly than before. So I designed and printed my own spool holder using the new "dock".

All in all, not a big deal but also not much to write home about. The worst part of it all is to reattach the side handle — just a pain in rear end to line the holes up and not have the screw slip out of the handle. I used a lot of choice words during that process.

Oh, most importantly: don't forget to print the Plus sign or it's not really a Core One+!! https://www.printables.com/model/1491822-prusa-core-one-plus

I finally opened the upgrade box ... sigh ... when I read about the new filament sensor being a "switch" I read way too much into what they meant. I expected to see a microswitch in the lit to replace that stupid ball bearing that jams.  A plastic sliding mechanism to move a magnet? Really?  Rube-Goldberg plus One.

The vent slider was never gonna happen; the "new improved" filament detector is probably never gonna happen; and I've already designed, printed and installed a useful filament holder that lifts spools high enough they don't drag on the case and allow adjustment to handle 70 and 100 mm spools.

As for the sticker ... since they didn't include a - because the kit actually detracts from usefulness (required 6.4.0+ firmware), that ain't gonna happen, either.
