Clicking from x/y gantry (I think)#

Printer has been running more or less flawless, couple minor quibbles, but nothing to onerous. and the print quality has been excellent.

I was printing some parts in PETG which used the full diagonal width of the build plate and there is an absolutely infuriating clicking coming from the x-y gantry.  It is surprisingly loud and at just the right irregular frequency of occurrence that it is like Chinese water torture being in the same room as it.

I've not noticed it before this, but it is possibly the geomtery of the part is sufficient to cause it to manifest more frequently

Link to a video of the it occuring.

A common cause of clicking is a blocked nextruder or wrong nextruder idler pressure.

You will need some compressed air and/or a toothpick to clear dust out of the grooves, there is a paragraph about the procedure halfway down:

If that doesn't help then check the idler pressure 'though this mostly stays OK unless you misadjust it after TPE printing.

And there is a chance, rare these days, that your filament is the wrong diameter;  measure it in a few places to check.

Cheerio,

Cheerio,

Ack, I could have sworn that I had added it.  Should be below:

After the print had finished I attempted to move the nextruder and could not replicate the click, however when I changed the filament I could hear the click again.  I've tightened the idler as I had it a bit loose since the start. Will continue to monitor
