Building a stand

I have pre-ordered a Core One Kit. I would like to build a base for the printer before delivery. Could someone who already has the printer help me?

  • Are these dimensions (415×444×555 mm; 16.3×17.5×21.8 in (X×Y×Z)) with or without display?
  • How big are the chamfers on the edges?
  • I saw on Youtube that the bottom is open at the bottom. Where exactly are the stands positioned?
  • Has anyone already created a true-to-original CAD model? The ones I found were not satisfactory.

Many thanks and happy printing

RE:

Do yourself a favour and go buy a concrete paver 400mm x 400mm and at least 40mm thick and build the stand to hold this, the printer will sit just perfect on this and you will have a much better base to deal with all the movement and vibration.

As you can see the frame sits on the paver nicely.

You could add a nice wood surround to hide the paver and even place it on sorbathane sheeting.

Normal people believe that if it is not broke, do not fix it. Engineers believe that if it is not broke, it does not have enough features yet.

I would also like to build a stand for the Core One. But I'll wait until I've built the kit.

I also plan to use a stone slab that is also decoupled as a base.
It should be flat on top so that it is no longer visible when the printer is standing on it.
Underneath there is space for 5 filament rolls, airtight, in case the MMU3 moves from the MK4s to the Core One.

Hey hey, you have such a fancy designer printer and you put it on an old cobblestone? Yuck...

I had my local craftsman (he usually makes window sills) make me a marble slab with rounded edges. It looks great - the shine is easy to wipe off. The slab is on double-sided tape (about 4mm thick, so that the tape is simply stuck to the slab with the cabinet. The MK4s used to be on it and as I see today... the squash balls he also has today would have been enough.

Looks good does that marble. If I can find somewhere near me that can make something like that art a reasonable price then I would buy it, the paver is more an experiment, a cheap experiment and it works really well, but I need to get the printer off the floor going forward so will see what I can get/make

You should be able to get standard-size paving stones from nicer materials, and with smooth edges -- granite or other stone. 40*40 cm² used to be the standard size here, but has fallen out of fashion a bit in favor of larger formats. But can still be found, typically 4 cm thick.
