Adhesion problems with PLA & PETG on the Satin Sheet

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share an issue I’ve been struggling with on my new Core One, and hopefully get some insights from other users.

I’m getting inconsistent adhesion with both PLA and PETG on the Satin sheet. What’s strange is that I use the exact same filaments, the same cleaning routine, and the same cloths and IPA that I use with my Prusa Mini+ — and on the Mini+ everything sticks perfectly every time.

What I’ve tried so far (PETG on Satin):

  • Cleaned with hot water + dish soap
  • Rinsed and dried thoroughly
  • Wiped with IPA (same brand and cloth as for the Mini+)
  • Same nozzle & bed temperatures as on the Mini+

The only real difference I can think of is that the Core One might be printing the first layers faster than the Mini+. However, the lifting doesn’t happen during the very first layer — it usually happens a bit later. So I’m not sure if speed is really the cause.

Despite all that, PETG still lifts randomly. I printed the exact same part on the Mini+ Satin sheet → perfect adhesion. I also tried the PEI sheet on the Core One → PLA sticks fine.

To double-check, I printed the same model again on the Core One Satin sheet, and it was still a lottery — sometimes it holds, sometimes it lifts.

Right now I switched to the textured sheet for PETG on the Core One, and it seems to work much better.

But I’m still confused why the same Satin surface behaves so differently between the Mini+ and the Core One.

Has anyone else experienced this difference between machines? I’d love to hear if I’m missing something obvious.

Thanks!

For PLA and PETG especially do you have the vents open? Also, try opening the door for both. I gave up using the Satin sheets. Was too much hassle and switched to the BIQU Cryogrip Pro. I don't even have to clean it between prints.
