Adding HEPA filter to Core One

I've installed the HEPA filter module on the back of my Core One (bought assembled) and have 2 questions:

1: The two smaller internal fans are still present and DO NOT spin when I am printing. Is this expected?

2: I could not find the M3 (I think) torx screws to fit the unit on the back of the printer. I had some M3 bolts which fitted the thread, so I used them instead. They are somewhat longer than the screws that would normally be used however (about 12mm total length). Is there any risk of them fouling up anything on the inside of the case? They didn't seem to make contact with anything and the first print was fine, but I just wanted to check if there could be an issue here?

Best regards,

    David

The "advanced filter" disables the internal fans. No issues there.

As far as the screws go - you've got about 3 cm before hitting anything of concern. A few extra mm isn't going to be any problem.

Thank you very much for the info. If the internal fans are now non-functional, I was wondering if they could/should be removed to give better access to the front of the HEPA filter?

Removing them means you need to re-engineer the holder for the chamber thermistor.  I wouldn't bother.

I have mine set up with a adapter that allows me to easily remove it. I so rarely print ABS/ASA and don't need it most of the time.

Yeah, I had thought about printing a little holder for the thermistor which could attach on the same bolts as the fans.

I might look into it at some point, but if the fans not spinning is expected, that's good enough for me.

Alternatively, making them spin slowly, even when advanced filtering is on would be a way to avoid "shielding" the outflow as much.
