0.20 SPEED with Prusament PETG needs tuning?

Was printing a part that has about a 70mm x 110mm flat base on it with a fresh out of the package and printing from a dryer box Prusament Ultramarine transparent PETG.  This was a draft version, so I set it to 0.20 SPEED profile, with Prusament PETG filament profile.  In the first few solid layers, the depositing layer was exhibiting threads sticking up, and I think these were building up on the nozzle on the next layer printed.  Bottom layers completed OK but not great, and about 2-3 layers into grid infill, the nozzle caught on a dropped blob (from the earlier layers? not sure) and shifted the head/ruined the print, etc.  Same part re-sliced at 0.20 BALANCED printed absolutely fine.

Any guesses what went wrong? I did end up recalibrating after cleaning up the failure, so it's possible the printer was out of calibration in some way.  Comparing the profiles, the only relevant difference is pretty much acceleration speed, but the SPEED profile isn't all that much faster than BALANCED.  I guess I could try the SPEED print again to see if it repros.

CoreOne+ 6.5.3 RC, HF0.4 nozzle, BIQU Cryogrip Glacier sheet. No sign of first layer adhesion issues.  Nozzle 255, Bed 85, Chamber 35.

You printed from a dry box but was the filament actually dry? Did you run the filament in a filament dryer for 5-6hrs at 60C before transfering it to the dry box? New from the package doesn't necessarily mean it's actually dry.

Good question.  I don't recall what the dryer read for humidity, assumed it was dry from factory.  Will run a dry cycle and retry the print.

most speed profiles are too fast for the temps they are set for.

In short, yes, I confirmed with support. All their profiles need to be calibrated.
