Voucher for Core One Kit

Just opened my emails to find a lovely $25 gift off my next order from the C1 kit order. Something about reducing packaging 📦  Anyone else? Or have I been lucky?

Well there's hope for my order and Prusa baptism yet 😅

RE: Voucher for Core One Kit

Nice! So they "invited" you to add further items to your pending Core One kit order, and would give a discount for that? That would make sense: They sell more, they save on packaging, you get some free money, and you get a little consolation for having to wait for the kit.

No similar offer here, but I am lucky regarding the short wait. (The remaining one, not counting the two months since January 31st and the additional 2.5  months since the announcement. 😉 )

I got one too,I think  it’s because the shipping costs are less now than they were when we ordered and paid

I also received a voucher, as a thank you for being 'among the first to order' the kit.  They reduced the volume of the kit packaging, so they're giving back the reduction in shipping cost - a nice gesture.  The wording says the voucher can be used with my 'next order', so it hadn't dawned on me that my Core One IS my next order.  I went to add some filament to the order and noticed that the 'Edit Order' option seems to have disappeared.  I'm hoping that means they're already packing my (batch 1) order!

I am in the same boat as you Chris Hill, I will have to remember the voucher for the black Friday free shipping deals.

We have until January 1st 2026.  My orders with Prusa are usually for new printers or printer upgrades - what do you think are the chances that there'll be an upgrade to the Core One or the MK4S before then? 🤣 🤣

In fact, DHL Express shipping now costs 50 euros instead of 85 euros. Maybe I'll even get a voucher. Let's wait and see.

Ah, ok -- it's for the longer-distance DHL oders then. Shipping cost via FedEx to Germany was very reasonable to begin with: 18€ plus change, not a bad deal for 28 kg of stuff shipped door-to-door within 2 to 3 days..

RE: Voucher for Core One Kit

I got this email and it kind of ticks me off.  Per the email, they have changed the packaging so that the shipping is now $25 less, so they are offering a $25 voucher on a FUTURE order.  They haven't shipped my kit yet, so why wouldn't that amount be applied to my current order (simply charging me the actual shipping)?  They basically overcharged by $25 on my "we'll ship it sometime in the future" order and are just going to keep it unless I'm willing to make another purchase.  With international shipping being what it is, the $25 probably doesn't amount to anything more than free (or even reduced) shipping on a future order.  It just seems disingenuous to me.

I received $60 voucher which I'm very pleased about.  Shipping to Australia so helps take the sting out of the charges.  I suspect it'll end up going to an MMU once they work out what they're doing with it with the C1.

SO, you get cheaper shipping and a $25,- voucher and that 'ticks you off'?  Do you live in the united states?

If Prusa had simply said nothing and kept the money, everything would have been fine and nobody would have complained because nobody would have known anything about it.

By the way, has anyone from Germany received such a voucher?

To be fair, I understand that the deal which Prusa offers is "$25 voucher instead of cheaper shipping", not "and".

But I agree that the optimized packaging with the resulting cost savings is an upside that should come as a pleasant surprise: Free voucher for pending kit orders, lower shipping cost for future kit orders; that seems fine to me. The transaction cost (internal labor plus bank fees) for triggering $25 refunds for all pending DHL orders would probably be significant -- so the voucher is a good way to pass the full savings on to each customer.

It seems very likely that we will see an MMU adaptation to the Core One later this year. An improved "Core One S" might come eventually, but within one year from the original product shipment seems on the early side.

Or you could spend the $25 on options (camera, filter, accelerometer, extra build sheets) if you have not included them in your original order. While it is apparently no longer possible to edit your pending order yourself in the online system, I would very much expect that Prusa support can do that for you and add items. Although I am not sure whether that would avoid additional shipping costs -- extra items seem to require extra boxes, since they can't be fitted into the Core One kit box.

Yeah, I may well give support a try.   My order already has some accessories, so will already need a small additional box.  I don't really need anything else, but I can always use some more Prusa Orange filament 😀

Would you have been happier if they just wouldn't have said anything and let you pay the price you agreed upon up front without giving you anything back?  Could have just simply done nothing and avoided blow back from customers like you.

Just to clarify after speaking to customer support (and maybe save them from other calls similar to mine) - the voucher can only be used on new orders (the same as vouchers earned from prusameters), and also, as my order has no edit function any more, the CS rep I spoke to said he wouldn't be able to change my order either.

RE:

The email did not indicate anything about cheaper shipping on the current order.  Also, I have already paid for my shipping.  As worded, the voucher is only good on future purchases where I would again have to pay international shipping to the US.  This would make the voucher worth about $5.

Fortunately, I was able to contact support and they were able to apply the current shipping cost to my order and the voucher is no longer needed.  Hats off to Prusa for great customer service!

They also mentioned that efforts are being made to ramp up production, so for those waiting on kits (or assembled units I suppose) hopefully the wait will be less than the current schedule suggests.  Fingers crossed!
