RE: The Core One Kit Waiting List

So with me it says probably. means that it can also be delayed

Anything can be delayed but until they are there's no reason to wring hands and worry over it.

I think you are misreading the thread. I don't see much hand-wringing here, just a bunch of people joking about their own impatience. @jeroen-3 said it best. 😊

RE: The Core One Kit Waiting List

Kit documentation and build guides are still being tweaked and refined. Once a draft is complete it is tested in detail by non-assembly personnel. This naturally takes time. The documentation is tweaked as required during this process before being repeated. It must be almost perfect before kits land on customer doorsteps, so shipping will not begin until Prusa reach that point. The first batch of kits are on schedule for the latter part of the month, unless something drastic happens.

MK4s>Core One conversion kits are a little more complex due to the teardown of one printer to build another, so involves a lot of extra steps and will take extra time. This documentation is also in the works in tandem, but will take longer - hence the reason to switch schedules and get the new kits out first, considering the kit documentation will be ready before the conversion guide.

But I'm still patiently waiting for some new information on when they'll start to ship me mine.

RE: The Core One Kit Waiting List

I ordered the kit on February 7th… I’m not among the very first, let’s say I have about a solid week of orders ahead of me. I asked if there were any estimated shipping dates (which I believe is a legitimate question after more than a month since I paid around €1,200, with a "promise" stating delivery in "March").

The response was a laconic "No… when we have updates, we will update the dates."

That’s where my frustration started, leading me to insist a bit more (if you say shipping starting in March it is not very nice to see TBA in mid March on your order)… only to receive further clarification that "the first kits will start shipping in March… then we will monitor the situation for a couple of weeks and restart after that."

I’m definitely a bit annoyed, both by the tone (which felt like a "stop bothering us and just wait") and by the complete lack of transparency regarding actual shipping dates.

Everyone has their own reasons and specific cases… for me, it’s a gift, so even though I have some flexibility, if the shipping timeline stretches too long, I’d have to cancel and buy something else… (A Bambu Lab, maybe?).

It seems like they underestimated the volume of orders this time (which, in a way, is good for them), but they are struggling to properly plan deliveries. And that doesn’t give me much confidence…

No, that is not what they promised. They said that they planned to start deliveries in March. It's not a binding promise, and it's not an indication that even all first-day orders are expected to ship in March, let alone later ones.

If you read @iftibashir's post above, and if we assume his information is correct, the gating item is not supply of parts or capacity to pack kits. Rather, it's the completion and testing of the build instructions. That is essentially a development project, with corresponding technical and timeline risk: Running test builds may show that some users get it wrong, either because the instructions are not clear or because they encounter e.g. parts tolerances which were not expected when the instructions were written. So you have to start another iteration of rewriting and build tests. It's not a "we are writing X paragraphs per day, there are Y paragraphs remaining, so we will publish the instructions in Y/X days" situation.

I can understand that Prusa does not want to set (and potentially disappoint) expectations before they have clear line of sight to the ship date. Let's be patient.

I thi k what you've articulated is what most people are thinking and with a March shipping announcement, we all want it to be today rather than tomorrow or the day after, I get it, I'm in the same boat.

I ordered Feb 3rd, so a bit late to the game, and added the filtration which adds time to my order being shipped. So if I get an update on when, I'm not expecting it to be this month. Although, it would be nice to have updates on how far they think they are from the first kits going out. I think even if they put March 31st as a date peliminary date, people would settle a little and anything quicker would be great. It's the not knowing that's frustrating, but if you read what they've stated, they're not breaking any 'promises' just people's 'expectations' and the two are not mutually exclusive.

"the first kits will start shipping in March… then we will monitor the situation for a couple of weeks and restart after that."

That bit is interesting, by the way. I take it to mean that Prusa will ship a limited number of kits first -- then deliberately wait until they receive feedback how customers got along with the builds, before they resume shipping more kits.

Which essentially means that the first customers will beta-test the build instructions. I would not mind doing that since I consider myself reasonably experienced and circumspect in building stuff. But not everyone may volunteer for that role, especially without being told.

I hope Prusa will put some "warning notice" on the build instructions when they are first published -- letting customers know that this is revision 1 of the instructions and that they may want to wait for a first round of updates if they don't feel comfortable being "pioneers"...

RE: The Core One Kit Waiting List

I ordered kit version on 13.02 and I have the same information from beginning shipping: TBA.

However when I ordered Kit version the information was clear estimated start of shipping will be in March 2025 and this was 1 month ago. (they could as well write that estimated start of shipping will be in this year 2025)

If we will check the ordering page today we have the same info as one month ago (estimation for March 2025) and is really misleading... if someone will order kit version today will think that shipping will be really soon or maybe it will be?.

RE: The Core One Kit Waiting List

In my interaction with customer service it was very clear to me that they only evaluated the start of the delivery in March...

It is clear to me that there was not a binding promise on my order.

Anyway if there is this thread probably PRUSA ALREADY set a disappointing expectations on orders delivery: let's be honest and demanding and not patient with market leaders...

If they said "orders will start in April" this thread was not here I think... right? So they set an expectation and now the only frustrating point is that they are not providing the estimated delivery date on each order... that's the only point... clarity and transparency about the planning.

...No... I already have my job and my own challenges to face.

I believe this is a challenge that CSRs should handle and resolve if they want to do their job properly.

RE: The Core One Kit Waiting List

I think the rush is pretty big. Although Prusa upgrades every year, they simply can't keep up.

The kit is still the most popular version at Prusa. As soon as the shipping starts there will be more information on when you can expect a delivery on your order date. Orders from the first day alone will take weeks to ship.

If you want to purchase a Prusa promptly, you will have to wait for the first six months.

Anyone who cannot accept this will have to buy elsewhere. Prusa has planned to ship the first units in March. Experience shows that this is 31.03.25 if things go well.

On the other hand, I prefer to wait a few days longer if it is necessary for a good product. No, I don't like waiting either, but that's just the way it is. And it doesn't change anything if I'm annoyed about it.

I'm even a little happy to have to wait, as it shows that Prusa is selling well and that we can expect many more improvements for the Core One in the coming years.

Haha, yeah, same here. If anybody @prusa reads this: I eagerly volunteer to be a beta-tester for the build instructions. I've built several Prusa printer kits over the years, and have helped several dozen people build their own, so I can provide valuable feedback about the quality and pitfalls of the instructions.

Which essentially means that the first customers will beta-test the build instructions. I would not mind doing that since I consider myself reasonably experienced and circumspect in building stuff. But not everyone may volunteer for that role, especially without being told.

Yeah, if someone @prusa would read this, I would volunteer, too. I started my 3D-printer journey in 2013 with a x400 from GermanReprap, which was delivered as a kit. Getting something delivered without any manual is kind of the thing I started with. I think with basic knowledge how these things work, and knowing how not to avoid obvious ways to build a 3D-printer, I would be able to build a Core One without a proper manual.

Ordered my kit on 31st Jan, and got my confirmation though at 17:13.

I went into this with my eyes open, and though I do obviously hope shipping starts before the end of March, I’ll be happy to see mine ship sometime in April.

17:13 I also received my confirmation.
Let's see who gets their Core One first, and especially when.
But I don't expect it before April.
In 4 weeks with a bit of luck.
