Luckily, i was able to superglue it together, so it's "alright".
I'll replace it when the part arrives. I am currently continuing the build, so lets hope it's smooth sailing from now on.
The problem is, that this fan grill part is only 1mm thick, which means the slightest side pressure will break it.
It needs to be packaged in a foam or something similar that can stop it from bending.
That nylon bag is simply not enough.

Think I’ll definitely be laying everything out and inspecting it before I start building.
Glad to hear you can at least carry on for now though 👍

Let’s be honest, anything other than batch 1 at the moment would have triggered an official enquiry on here, and brandishing of pitchforks! 😂

RE: The Core One Kit Waiting List
Next issue, but it won't stop the build.
There was most likely a change in the design with the Linear holders and 3 holes should have been a threaded hole.
Well, someone forgot two.
Well, I wouldn't of expected such poor QC 😢
I'm starting to think this release really was too much of a rush for Prusa 😬
RE:
Some parts def needs redesign.
I'm currently at the XY motor mount assembly and i need to screw in m3x30 screws which holds the 2x GT2-20 idler pulleys.
The problem is, the screws should create the thread in the plastic part, but the hole is almost big as the screws, so it barely holds.
Cant even print it quickly again, because there are no parts uploaded to Printables.

I ordered Feb 2nd and I too don't have a batch number...just TBA. I contacted support and they said mine would probably ship out mid May. Didn't give me a batch number or anything just said mid may.

I ordered 3rd Feb, I'm batch 5, expected 14th May, but I do still have the filtration in my order, which is holding it back. So i would expect you to be in front of me in the 'queue'.
You got any other items in your basket that could potentially delay it? Buddy Cam and Filtration are the 2 main ones, unless you've ordered some filament that isn't going to be available until next Jelember?

Ok now mine is shipped:)

It is a bit funny. This is not a cheap printer 🙁

If it happens to me, after everything, funny is something that it will not be 😐

Yep, that was off in my build as well. I think I left a comment in the build instructions on that one. Strange, since there are so many self-tapping M3 holes in other part which, if anything, are on the tight side.
(When did "self tapping machine screw thread in plastic" become an accepted design practice, by the way? It's bad enough to see self-cutting screws with coarser threads in cheap plastic products. But those at least get some grip in the plastic. I did not expect to find those M3 threads in a Prusa design; always felt it was a hobbyist's kludge. Well, at least they made sure to only use them for screws which are not expected to be loosened and reassembled later.)

Got to admit, packaging and design/manufacturing issues like this are starting to make me a bit twitchy about the whole thing. For the price-point, I'd expect better.

The missing threads in the bracket are not a design issue, but a manufacturing problem. My brackets were made correctly. But strange how that kind of problem could have crept in; I would very much assume that all those threads are cut via CNC in one go?
I felt like a lot of thought had gone into the packaging -- not only custom cardboard and foam inserts to hold parts in place, but also how lightweight and heavier small parts were grouped away from each other. Not sure what happened to that broken fan grille though; packaging was obviously not secure enough in that case. I don't recall where it was stowed in the packages I received.
RE: The Core One Kit Waiting List
The threads are not made on CNC, but as the last operation in production after bending the sheet metal and spraying with paint. Otherwise, they would get clogged. This is a worker's failure during the production operation, nothing else. Although it should have been discovered during the inspection, they certainly do not have 100% production control and so it could have passed. Fortunately, it can be easily repaired, an M3 tap is enough.
RE: The Core One Kit Waiting List
Well, guessing the finger crossing didn't help.
If no sign of the order shipping tomorrow, guess I'll contact support again to ask if the additional items in the order are indeed now holding it back.
Keeping my fingers crossed for a shipping notification tomorrow.
I asked customer support earlier this week about maybe removing/splitting the accelerometer and camera from my batch 1 order in order to allow the prnter kit itself to ship.
To be fair, they looked into it and came back saying it might be better to just sit tight, and that my complete order is currently planned to ship tomorrow/7th April.

Sure, they need to be cut after painting (or powder-coating?). But is that a manual process, tapping each thread one by one? That feels a bit "1900s" to me; I don't envy the guy who has that job...
