RE: The Core One Kit Waiting List

Exactly my thinking 😂 too hesitant to pull the trigger with out seeing feedback from people who have put more time into the printer. Kits been in my cart since February! Not to worry, can’t deny I’m getting a bit of fomo now though

Posted by: @staldy

I was planning to order in the summer to get a kit in the fall, but now I'll probably order as soon as possible. 🤣

Posted by: @scott-18

Wow, it seems thay had a LOT of orders!

I'm curious to know the batch and time scheduled for today order. 😆

My order details:

Ordered: Saturday, 1 February 2025 10:41 GMT

Batch: 25 Apr 2025 (Batch 3)

Maybe i would advise against posting the exact timestamp of your order. Someone could reverse engineer your order numbers and contact support to cancel the order so that they get their own earlier 😂

Well, I am there with you.

Ordered February 24th and that's Batch 8 (estimated May 30th).

I ordered 3 weeks late, because i wanted to sell my MK4 first, before i pull the trigger... long time with no printer, but at least a date.

So now i can calm down a bit... ^^

I ordered on March 4th and got a shipping date of June 12th

Somehow I expected this would happen even when Prusa stated that they ramped up production and will not have long delivery times as with the XL.

There might be hope for your accelerometer. After getting the tracking number yesterday, this morning I thought, what the h.ck, and ordered accelerometer and gpio board. That order has a tracking number now as well (so stuff seems to be in stock). Though only the C1 is in FedEx hands so far ...

Indeed! The third package has been handed over to FedEx as well now, and is even expected to make it to us on the same day. I'm counting my blessings (and am up to three now)! 🙂

Ordered Feb 20. Shipping May 30. That's a long time. Perhaps I can better cancel and order the assembled version?

It depends. I explicitly selected the kit so I can build it myself and not have the surprise of having to figure out how the machine is constructed when I need to do any repairs on it. Also note that the assembled version includes a "new orders in April 2025" message. No idea what this means but looking at all other information it will be somewhere in May when new orders will be delivered.

Do you want to spend the extra € 300,- for getting your Core One just a few weeks earlier ?

RE: The Core One Kit Waiting List

Everyone has different opinions. What would really have been better would have been if Prusa had scheduled the start of shipping for April. But the conditions were clear from the start with the pre-order and that delivery would only start in March. Expressing frustration now because someone is not in batch 1 doesn't help anyone either. Please don't be angry if I don't go any further into the subject, as I don't want to fill the forum with discussions that won't change anything anyway. Nevertheless, I hope that everyone is satisfied in the end. No matter how.

Hi, I don't think it's fair to debate whether a customer's dissatisfaction with their purchasing experience is valid or not. Everyone has their own expectations. It's important for Prusa to understand that there are loyal customers, or those with more patience, or in a position to better manage the purchase process—and then there are customers who felt somewhat misled or simply didn't think the experience was up to par.

I buy all sorts of things online and often back crowdfunding campaigns, sometimes waiting years for a product. In this case, I believe Prusa has really mishandled the purchasing experience for those who ordered the Kit. It's unacceptable to send out a shipping update today claiming that shipping started yesterday. It's unacceptable that Prusa was unable to communicate an estimated shipping date beforehand—that's not how a serious company operates, or at least not a company that has control over its supply chain, production, and logistics.

I'm not getting paid by anyone to be dissatisfied. I wanted a Prusa, I bought one, I paid for it—and if I'm not happy, maybe it's because Prusa didn't manage expectations properly, not just because I'm being difficult. I buy from many companies, and I have to say, if I'm taking valuable time to complain, it's because the level of dissatisfaction caused by Prusa is very high for me, and it doesn't match what I've experienced with other companies that do a better job.

Prusa needs to know that there are companies out there doing better, if it wants to compete seriously. It can't just listen to its fans or to those who are more forgiving or patient for their own reasons. If you want to be a leader in your industry, you have to compare yourself to other leading companies—and deal with the most demanding customers, not just the easygoing ones.

Nevertheless, I hope that everyone is satisfied in the end. No matter how.

As someone who is purchasing a Core One kit as my first printer, it's a matter of the fundamentals of communication and understanding how people will interpret the estimated shipping date (i.e. why not just say "by/at the end of <month>"), not the preconditions that you feel justify the actual ship date. Though I feel both sides are valid depending on one's perspective, "given this is how it's always been done"/"technically on time"/"it is what it is" will only get Prusa far if they want to stay competitive. Thought I should clarify this since your approach to the topic and the OP's are inherently different, but I agree, no need to have an argument/discussion that won't amount to anything.

Applicable to rest of the thread:
That being said, I ordered on March 14 PST and am in batch 11--did not expect to be among the first to receive a kit and am eagerly waiting 🙂

I was ambitiously hoping to receive it sometime in April or May, but if it arrives on time as shown on the current shipping table, I will actually receive it sometime around my birthday!

Anyone have tips on what I can/should do to prepare?

ordered on 1st February,  but still no batch allocation or shipping estimate.
did something go wrong?

it doesn't feel great to spend roughly 1000 euros and still not even know when you might receive an item months later.

I'm with you.

I did not expect to receive anything today but as Mr. Prusa himself said in an interview that we will not see stuff like what happened with the XL because the have production up and running okay and it's actually the writing of the manual which is keeping things from shipping back then I feel a bit disappointed.
Take into account that "shipping end of March" was deliberately changed to "shipping in March"  resulted in "shipping 10 seconds before March ends" and then it feels almost like Prusa was deliberately fooling us.

My order now shows "shipping start: 12 Jun 2025" (thank god for specifying a year) I am still happy if it ships by then.
The XL we ordered at work in the beginning of this year actually arrived a few days before the date Prusa told us it would be shipped.

I'm just disappointed in my own expectation it would arrive this week or next week

I'm a bit disappointed as well, but like you said, it was because of my own expectations. At least the positive outcome in our ship dates is that those extra 2.5 months will inform us of any to-be-known issues and provide us with a wealth of resources on how to fix them.

Thankfully my company has a communal MK4 I can use. It's what actually what led me to buying a Core One.

RE: The Core One Kit Waiting List

I think that is the key: our exceptions are the problem.  I am not criticizing and do not want a fight.  I was a little let down that my printer is pretty delayed to May.  I am happy because I am going on a business trip and need extra time to prep to build.  I think it all about how you look at it.

My next printer?  I have saved for about half way for a Prusa Pro HT90 and looking forward to buying one.  It will replace my Anycubic Predator. It would be my 19th Prusa printer.  I have sold many as I upgraded, but have regretted it.

I don't like their business practices and processes only you buy, but the end results have always been fantastic.

What does it mean if I've ordered my printer Feb 2nd, but my shipping still says TBD and doesn't have a batch like I see most people posting about?  I did modify my order recently to remove all other things other than the printer.  But the order date still says Feb 2nd.  And it's shipping to USA via DHL.

RE: The Core One Kit Waiting List

I'm usually hesitant to be the first to order new products like this but I figured, since I wanted the kit, that there would be reviews of the assembled version in time for me to be able to cancel my kit order if I wanted.  Plus I really wanted a second printer and the C1 ticked all the boxes.  So I stayed up late to order the night the kits became available to preorder.  I was very lucky and although I had issues with the site like everyone else, my order went through before everything crashed.  So I was able to place my order 9 mins after they went live and I've been given Batch 1 shipping.  I did order some extras though like satin sheet, camera, nozzles, gpio board and accelerometer so it will be interesting to see how this might delay things.  Shipping is very expensive to Australia so it's just not worth splitting an order up for me, I'd rather wait for everything.
