Spare parts

Hi,

I just finished putting together my Core One kit and I'm so far very satisfied with how it turned out. It's a huge upgrade from the 7 year old Ender 3 I've been using up until now.

While I was lucky to not run into any issues during the build, I've read comments from others about some printed parts breaking (like the belt tensioners) and I was wondering if it's worth getting a spool of PCCF and printing out a spare set of any parts that might break. If so, are there any parts I definitely should have a spare of?

One small issue I've noticed is that the acrylic side panels on either side appear to bend somewhat, making them stand out from the body by about a few millimeters in the middle. I guess it's a minor cosmetic detail, but it does leave a gap in the enclosure. I've tried swapping and flipping the panels, but the gap is still there.

RE: Spare parts

In about 2015
I had a prusa Mk1 which I Upgraded to a Mk2.
and I had just ordered a second Mk2 Kit...

In those days the filament spool holder was a bit flimsy...

My 1Kg roll of filament fell off the spool holder, and smashed my Y axis Motor holder...
I Only had one printer, and I Didn't know anyone else with a printer...

So I Strapped the parts of the motor holder, together, with a cable tie, dribbled some Acetone on the broken part, and went to bed...

the next day, the motor holder was still holding together, so I Downloaded a re enforced motor holder and printed two copies immediately just in cade the repair failed...

one re enforced motor holder went straight into the second Mk2 kit build, and the other went into a drawer, for when I next upgraded the printer, or the original broke...
And nearly ten years later, it's still in a drawer, under the printer...

you could print a set of spares, which will probably go out of date as updates occur... or never get used...
but it might be better looking for another person locally who could print a part, if you need one, when you need it, or wait until you get your second printer, and print your own spares as and when you need them!

I currently only have 4 FDM Printers  and on resin printer...

My most useful spares are a box of assorted M3 screws, washers, nuts, square nuts and heat set inserts...
these get used when I design parts and when I lose parts...

Next most useful have been nozzles, heaters, thermistors and heater blocks... And PTFE Tubes  and fittings for multi material printers...

to repair an equipment carrying case I designed and printed a replacement catch for one of the locking mechanisms, that has been in regular use for about five years,  earlier in the week, I found a second replacement catch that I Must have printed at the same time, 'just in case'

On Sunday, I Noticed that one of the catches on my sewing machine case has broken, so that's another candidate for a repair...

Happy printing!
Joan
