RE: Shipping dates

I bought a kit a few days ago at the 27th! I'm new to Prusa and coming from an Anet A8 which has served me well for 8 years and is currently printing actually! Hasn't burned my house down yet.

Do you think there's a chance I'll have it shipped in March or do you think I'll be looking at April or May? I didn't see any shipping estimates for the kits. Anyway, just asking what you think. I guess all we can do is speculate.

It's been a few years since I last bought a car, but that sounds absurd. They had you pay the full 45 k€ upfront at the time of ordering?? Which country are you in, and what channel did you buy through?

RE: Shipping dates

I'm guessing your order was for a pre-built Core One, not a kit- correct?

Looking like kits aren't going to be shipped for a good while yet.

RE: Shipping dates

Where does it say that they only start shipping the next batch once the previous batch has shipped completely?

AFAIK batches are production cycles not shipment cycles. They say when a certain batch starts to be shipped but they don't say anywhere when it ends, so overlapping of batch shipments isn't excluded (and wouldn't make sense anyways).

Assuming that @iftibashir's information is right, the gating item is not the material supply -- which would be a common bottleneck for the assembled printers and kits. Rather, it's assembly labor time for the ready-built printers, and creating the build instructions for the kit.

Hence, delays in shipping the assembled printers don't necessarily affect the shipping schedule for the kits. But, given that March has just begun, the "start of shipping in March" may indeed still be a few weeks away. If that means that we get assembly instructions which already make builders aware of some of the early gotchas encountered in production and explain how to avoid or fix them, I am fine with waiting a bit more!

RE: Shipping dates

Ordered - and paid: November 28th, 2024.

Received: February 27th, 2025.

Unboxed: March 3rd, 2025.

All well, apart from one issue: the belts were not properly tensioned, so we had to apply the (in)famous 'belt tensioning by frequency in Hz' -procedure. But when we did that - and (although this should not happen with a assembled printer IMHO) we used the Prusa app for tensioning the Y-axis belts, the printer did some pretty nice test prints in PLA. ABS wll be next the day after tomorrow.

Apart from the slight hiccup we're pretty happy.

I wonder why you are still interested? You cancelled your order long ago, your friend a few days ago, right?

Prusa keep updating the shipping table at https://help.prusa3d.com/article/shipping-information_2297
Looks like they are a few days behind at most, so I don't see how this is a big deal.

RE: Shipping dates

I ordered 3 minutes after the kit order slot was opened, so I should be between the first 5 people to receive the kit.

However in my order status there is        Current shipping estimate: Up-to-date shipping information.

That is basically the shipping page with only assembled batches.  No further news 😒

So shipping in March for the kits may mean  'Shipping end of March'.
This will give me more time to find a place where to put the package, since I am really out of space at home. 😓

RE: Shipping dates

Apologies as I'm just assuming, as the built units are to be shipped first? And there's 9 batches? Between batch 4 and 5 there's 6 days, let's say a week between batches. So, based on batch 5 to 6 to 7 to 8 to 9 is another 4 weeks, or one month. I may have my number wrong but, going from what others have said, built units first, would it not be correct to assume that with some crossover of orders dispatched let's say 3 weeks until kits are starting to be shipped? First week of March is nearly done.

Either way, I don't really mind. I have no immediate need for the machine. Just going off what I've read, although I've not read all the info, so again apologies if I've missed something.

The thing I do find odd that considering the transparency of the process, is I've never been given a 'ticket' with a date to expect shipment, or even s batch reference. Even if it is constantly put back due to delays, which I don't mind, you're in the dark if you bought a kit, checking the order status until the TBA changes to something else, or you get a mail with news.

RE: Shipping dates

Edit: there are 13 batches for assembled units, so given that they are prioritised over the kits, again based on what others have said, and maybe giving an overlap of 2 batches, or 2 weeks with built units and kits, as production of assembled slows down. that's a while off the kits being shipped, no? Again based on what others have eluded to that built units are to be sent out first. I would also assume that if people have pre-ordered they would expect their built until before my kit arrives?

Again this is all based on the assembled machines being the priority.

RE: Shipping dates

I would have a curiosity. Each batch, how many printers do you think are there? Ten, a hundred, a thousand... Are there any numbers?
