Request to get Core One Kit shipped from Printedsolid ?
Prusa has a US Printer manufacturing factory in Delaware, US. Today the 20% tariff on goods from the Czech Republic (or any EU country) to US customers (only) was announced by the US government. Printed Solid now seems like was a great move to acquire because one stated goal of the tariff is to increase US manufacturing, which Prusa was already doing. How can US customers benefit from this US factory and not end up paying for the printer to get shipped from the EU, and hit a $200 or more tariff on Core One kits? I would suggest an option to have it shipped from Delaware so we can support both Prusa and encourage the expansion of Prusa manufacturing here in the US. If this is logistically difficult perhaps we can choose to even delay our order until it is in place, in order to help Prusa succeed here in the US with the new tariffs. This also affects all printer parts as the $800 duty free limit was also removed today as well, along with the tariff introduction.

My guess is that it won't save you anything. The parts will still be shipped from Prusa to printed solid, unless they start manufacturing their own parts. So it'll see the tariff either way.

If only parts are imported into the U.S. you would avoid paying tariffs on (part of) Prusa's markup and on the labor cost for printer assembly. But you would probably be hit by the higher labor cost in the U.S. and by the higher overhead of running that separate smaller manufacturing site.

Does the tariff apply to new orders or also affect previously ordered (and paid) printers and kits? And chinese printers (and more) are even hit worse.
I am not a US tax officer - but most countries charge on date of entry unless the duty was prepaid by the importer (you) - at whatever rate was in force at time of payment.
If you want to avoid duty it's probably best to wait for four years and vote for someone else; 'though that does risk DT bending your constitution keep himself in office for life.

The only reason Prusa bought PrintedSolid was to get access to the educational and government market segments in the US. They've always had a high markup on their Prusa products, and that won't change. We all hoped for something different but no luck. They're don't manufacture printers, they just sell them. So any increase in cost by tariffs will just be passed on.
