RE: Prusa Core One not usable inhouse... Sorry, but the sound was to intensiv
Just had to come on and say this to get some closure. This was my first 3d Printer, heard all the good things about Prusa, handed over my money, and had the same experience as most on this post. Since I got the unit at the start of the year, I have printed 2 items. I don't have the time to call in and chit chat for hours or days with customer support, and have seen precious little in the way of a solution. Now all of the announcements about the L and new hotends and the rest and I am done. Going too put mine up for sale at half the price I paid with the giant warning that it is a garage only sort of thing. This was my first and last experience with Prusa.

Out of interest, what were the issues you were experiencing?
Other than a few niggles, mine seems to be quite reliable thus far......

Its quite interesting...have a self assembled core one, which is not audible in the living room if I close the door to the office, which is only separated by a thin wall...definitely more quiet then the mini and the anet a8.

Mine is self-assembled from an MK4. It's very quite. I have it behind my office desk. To get it that quite I had to run the phase stepper calibration with the accelerometer plus reset the Y-axis carriage screws and Z-axis motor mount screws. Plus some minor lubrication. I can now barely hear it.

It is a little loud, but it runs in my HANM radio room and I can talk and use VOX on my radio and no one hears it.

If you start to venture into printing other plastics like ABS, ASA or PC then make sure the printer is in a well ventilated area. Otherwise, the fumes can be toxic. I keep mine next to a window with a box fan.
