RE:
Ordered on the 18th of April. I have two MK3S+ and was going to upgrade to MK4S and buy enclosures then I realized going from there to Core One was only 200 bucks more so I pulled the trigger on that. Not gonna lie, I'm a little disappointed not knowing when I 'll get them. Would love to know.
Depending on what you want to print, maybe you want to change only one of your bedslingers to Core One for the time being? When it comes to nice-looking prints, the MK4S performs better than the Core One, since it does not suffer from VFAs/belt ripple (or at least shows them to a much lesser extent, probably due to the shorter belts). So maybe upgrade to one MK4S without enclosure for "decorative" PLA and PETG prints, and one Core One for technical filaments and functional prints?
Edit: Oh, and how does the price for the two-step upgrade from MK3S+ > MK4S > Core One compare to just buying a complete Core One kit?
RE: MK4S to Prusa CORE One Conversion kit Waiting list
Certainly not under the illusion of saving $ really. I don’t really venture off the PLA reservation. Hope to use more in the future. I’ll see what parts I have left and figured I might be close to having stuff to build a couple of couple MK3-ish printers? Considering I have ~4-5 years in the existing printers I can’t really count that money anymore and no complaints either as I bought them as kits and assembled them. Never bought an assembled Prusa so that was my $ savings. Also, anything that works as well as they do that was put together by me deserves to be treated well. 🙂
Thanks for the input, although when notified of a response, I was hoping it was to tell me that my shipment was imminent!

Well, if you stick with a MK4S upgrade for one of your printers, you could get that right away! 🙂
And if you order a full Core One kit instead of the MK3S+ > MK4S upgrade plus MK4S > Core One upgrade, you should at least get a delivery date quickly since those are already shipping. From what I see in the online store, it would be cheaper -- and you would have an extra MK3S+ left over.

I don’t really venture off the PLA reservation.
If you live in a cooler environment or your print remains indoors, nothing is wrong with that.
I do a lot of outdoor projects and need more robust filaments for some prints. I need the other filaments.

Outdoors and RC….lightweight filament for printing RC planes is one thing I would like to do. So far it’s been models, Knick knacks, and dinosaur skulls for anyone who wanted one. Actually bought tables for all my printers, living and dead. To try and build a small print farm.
RE: MK4S to Prusa CORE One Conversion kit Waiting list
It is looking like we are having another last day of the month drop date for the conversion kits. Maybe it will drop on Monday. The whole printer kit dropped on 31 March (Monday).

That would be two days early! 😉
But yes, maybe they will allow for a day of buffer time, since May 1st is a holiday (Labor Day) in many European countries. And I believe the tradition of "dancing into May" is also pretty widespread across Europe. So maybe you don't want to stress out your employees until late in the day on April 30th...

Same here, ordered 31/01, will be dismantling my mk4s next week, will leave nextruder intact though
RE: MK4S to Prusa CORE One Conversion kit Waiting list
Ordered same day, +62 minutes. I think I'm waiting for the instructions so I have 2 piles, keep and box up.

RE: MK4S to Prusa CORE One Conversion kit Waiting list
Hi everyone,
quick question:
Since I ordered the upgrade on February 1st, do I need to print parts to build it? Or are they included? Or does it come with filament for printing myself?
Thanks very much.
RE: MK4S to Prusa CORE One Conversion kit Waiting list
If it's like the full kit (which I very much assume), all parts are included. The product page for the conversion kit also states "contains all parts you need".
RE: MK4S to Prusa CORE One Conversion kit Waiting list
The regular kit is intended for people who do not necessarily have a printer available. In this case they cant expect people to print parts. The upgrade is intended for people who have specifically a working MK4S and they can supply gcodes. All 3 previous upgrade kits I got from Prusa required printing of parts for the new build.

That's why I also quoted Prusa's product page. "Prusa CORE One Conversion kit contains all parts you need to transform your Original Prusa MK4Sinto the fully enclosed CoreXY 3D printer, the Prusa CORE One" is literally the first sentence of the product description.

We will know soon. In the past, you have to print some parts, but the filament to do so came with the upgrade kit.

RE: MK4S to Prusa CORE One Conversion kit Waiting list
slight correction: in the past kits *you could choose* if you wanted to print the parts yourself or you wanted the parts as part of the kit. Me perfectly happy to have the parts from Prusa as I like the certainty that, once my printer is disassembled, I don't discover that I've forgotten to print something 😀 Others like to print the parts themselves... whatever floats your boat...
RE: MK4S to Prusa CORE One Conversion kit Waiting list
Apparently Prusa does not offer a choice with the Core One conversion kit. With most of the functional parts being printed in PCCF, maybe printing them on an (unenclosed) MK4S is not a viable option anyway?
RE:
I just now checked with online chat support.
“You will have all the needed parts within this upgrade 🙂
it is also listed online by the product
Prusa CORE One Conversion kit contains all parts you need to transform your Original Prusa MK4S into the fully enclosed CoreXY 3D printer, the Prusa CORE One.”
They wouldn’t give me a shipping update yet…
