RE: MK4S to Prusa CORE One Conversion kit Waiting list
Ordered 31/1/2025, finally arrived 3/7/2025 (order had buddy cam and some filament too) and just finished the build. Everything was square (can't emphasize enough to not tighten any/all frame screws until you can place the unit on a known level surface and then tighten) and calibration passed on first run. It was a long wait, but so far so good!
RE: MK4S to Prusa CORE One Conversion kit Waiting list
Thank you for the answer, sadly I tried both sides and the holes on the front left of the base plate seem to be not where they should, little off also on the front right.
You can not even mount the front left plate when starting with the two screws on the base😭. A little better with front right plate .
I hope to hear from support service soon.
RE: MK4S to Prusa CORE One Conversion kit Waiting list
My bad, assembly problem😱
Did not fit the XY assembly (chapters 5) full down.
Works fine now
Missing multi color (not mmu3), bigger print bed, faster printing, multi tool head laser cutter, ... already!
Sascha😉😜
RE: MK4S to Prusa CORE One Conversion kit Waiting list
no longer funny, every time I check, my estimated delivery of the kit ordered first half of Feb gets moved back. now estimated 3rd week July. NOT happy.
Does no one at Prusa realise that this annoys customers. We also have to ensure we are there to take delivery. I will never order again, unless something is IN stock.(unless I do not have to pay up front). 6 months is absurd, the lack off clear communications and planning compounds the irritation. Not a great way to run a business.
RE:
My upgrade kit arrived yesterday 7th July. I ordered on 2nd Feb (It is now 8th Jul am, here). I immediately started the conversion. I didn't realize it would take so long to disassemble the mk4s. Had I realized, I would have had it apart and ready for the upgrade. Instead of doing any upgrading immediately, I spent the entire day taking the MK4s apart. Today, I will start upgrading.... (Oh I should also mention, that my heat bed, although working fine, was not up to scratch, as far as the upgrade instructions were concerned. I ordered a new one, but have decided to continue the upgrade with the old one and replace it when the new one arrives).
RE: MK4S to Prusa CORE One Conversion kit Waiting list
My order finally changed to "In Progress" today, and got a tracking number (not yet live). I'm hopeful my upgrade will ship before the weekend. (2025-02-11 order date.)
I just installed an ObXidian nozzle on my MK4s - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CWS2DK8R - hoping this is better than the 0.4 high-flow nozzle.
RE: MK4S to Prusa CORE One Conversion kit Waiting list
just checked on my order from mid February and... shipping estimate date has been moved again! Clearly some automated system, I have lost count how many times it has changed. Guys at Prusa. Pick a conservative date and try to stick with this! your system seriously pisses people off. Needlessly so. Moving the estimate dates on a weekly basis adds zero value to anyone.
Pretty much guaranteed to be on holiday if and when this thing finally rocks up. 😡
RE: MK4S to Prusa CORE One Conversion kit Waiting list
just received my shipping notice! looks like i will have it soon. looking forward despite the wait;)
RE: MK4S to Prusa CORE One Conversion kit Waiting list
I've ordered on 03 feb and recieved it last week on 02 juli. (With budy 3dcam, shipped to the netherlands). It was originally predicted to ship at the first half of april. It is not my first conversion / kit so , from experience, I expected a bit of delay, but still I was a bit disappointed it took twice the time. As always the packaging was perfectly done. Inside the big box with good handles everything in separate boxes with lots of foam.
I just finished the conversion, including a mmu3 "blob" conversion kit, which I received a few weeks earlier. Made a few test prints and it all seems to work just fine.
RE: MK4S to Prusa CORE One Conversion kit Waiting list
Just a FYI now. I finished the "upgrade" yesterday. You save a few hundred dollars by going down this path, but be prepared to spend a few days, turning a collection of (nicely bagged and labelled) screws and panels, into a printer.
RE: MK4S to Prusa CORE One Conversion kit Waiting list
Ordered on the 7th of feb with cam and filtration, order status still "new" and the delivery has been moving daily since 3 weeks now... what use it is to know that you are in the middle of the delivery bracket... since 3 weeks?
RE: MK4S to Prusa CORE One Conversion kit Waiting list
Finished my build yesterday after 12 hours of build time. Everything went smooth and calibration passed right away.
Didn't find any parts of the build to be hard. Only thing that almost made me loose it, was the damn belt tuner app that refused to work on my S25 Ultra.
RE: MK4S to Prusa CORE One Conversion kit Waiting list
+1 Claim, upgrade kit ordered February 2nd and since 4 weeks it's daily delayed. the most frustrating is that support told me they have no idea why causing this delay.
I can understand logistic issues or problem regarding VFA they willing to solve before shipping (and surely they will) but having a clean and clear communication will be beneficial for confidence we have. in the meantime, we are waiting ...
RE: MK4S to Prusa CORE One Conversion kit Waiting list
Finished my build this weekend. One big problem was that while installing the idler pulley in one of the belt tensioners, I didn't have the pulley properly centered while driving in the screw, which cracked the idler. Super glue and prayers, finished the assembly and was able to calibrate OK. Printed a replacement.
My back Z-axis motor was not perfectly vertical, causing a loud squeak when the bed was near the top. There was rubbing on the bracket that holds the top of that rod. I loosened the screws on that motor, ran it through the range multiple times, then re-tightened. Fixed that.
Square up your gantry with the belts loose. Then, tighten them consistently side-to-side. If the belt tension is uneven (that app behaves quite badly on my Pixel), then you'll pull it out of square, leading to the dreaded bang-bang-bang. I ultimately used the printed belt tension meter, set to just above "Min" got me the right tension.
This upgrade was my entire weekend, but was great fun. Finally, five months after my order, it's done.
RE: MK4S to Prusa CORE One Conversion kit Waiting list
Yup and since I did MK3S+ to MK4S upgrade I hope with some extra parts shopping I will be able to rebuild my MK3S
I'm in the same mode. I think that with the purchase of the power supply, a heat bed, the y rods, and a few bearings and pulleys I should have everything I need to build a MK3+.

Conversion kit and warranty!Be very careful with the conversion kit, because you can easily do the same as me.My conversion kit arrived, I rebuilt the printer, everything went well, at first it passed all the tests and printed relatively well for two to three weeks. It started hammering in the right front corner for 3 minutes. Tension tests, it passed all the tests and the printer was repaired. again for 2-3 weeks, then it started hammering again.I checked everything is fine. Several hours of repair with the support, every time it starts it writes a different error message, it hangs for minutes, support is clueless.I asked to send it back for repair, maybe they are smarter, they said that the repair price is 30 euros / hour (the printer is under warranty). Then I asked to send this crap back, I don't need it, they won't take back just the conversion kit, but how much money will they transfer back if I return the whole printer, they can't tell me, then they send me an email. I've been waiting for a message for two weeks, nothing. I asked what to do with the camera, which I ordered separately, and the accelerometer, if they don't take it back. Now I have a nice expensive room decoration. They released the 6.3.4-RC firmware, I updated it, re-calibrated the belt, new tests, Phase stepping calibration may work again now, but for how long.So much for the big Prusa guarantee, disgusting!
RE: MK4S to Prusa CORE One Conversion kit Waiting list
You chose to order a kit and used it for the upgrade. Sorry but I can hardly imagine them taking it back. What would they do with the used parts, just throw them away?
Just focus on fixing the issue. That's the beauty of Prusa printers, you build it yourself so you can fix it. Find what goes wrong and ask for help here.
I'm sorry but there are plenty of happy Core One conversion kit owners out there, this might simply be a you problem. However, if you do find out a part is faulty, I'm sure Prusa will offer a replacement.
RE: MK4S to Prusa CORE One Conversion kit Waiting list
I feel your pain. have you tried enlisting local help? Sometimes 2 heads etc?

RE: MK4S to Prusa CORE One Conversion kit Waiting list
Back to the upgrade, is there any mention of a kit from Prusa to rebuild the leftover remnants of the mk4s into a printer again? I've done a bit of looking, and it seems like the cost of buying the parts individually is greater than the 2nd hand value of the mk4s. Should this be a new post?

Not from Prusa directly, but a third-party is putting together a PrusaWire kit to build a Voron SwitchWire using the leftover parts.
