It's interesting that the NFC set isn't reused give this is a common part.  Maybe removing it from the tape damages it?

I looked at my rods and they looked fine.  I did order replacement trapezoid nuts and bearings as they're not that expensive. Rods are an additional $50, so unless necessary I wouldn't.

Hi,

I think my bearings and rods still work good on the MKS4. Are you thinking off replacing them in advance just to be on the safe side ?

What ist the usual lifetime in printing hours of these parts ?

best regards

Ralf

It does of course depend heavily on the usage of the printer. But as you already have it apart, replacing the bearings is a good idea. You only need 2 anyway. Especially the X and Y will degrade due to the load on them. You can hear and feel it when you move them over the rod on their own. In some cases a bad bearing can damage the rod by creating grooves in them, this can cause issues when printing. Just something to check when you have it apart.

Or was it an oversight in the manual?  I wouldn’t discard it unless you verify they sent another one.  😅

It is probably two fold. Difficult to remove and reuse. And a very cheap part not worth the effort.
They our usually very generous with what they sent with upgrade kits. I have a box full of assorted screws and fasteners.

Section 7 Step 24 in the Conversion kit manual refers to a new coil and cable in the Electronics and chamber parts package

The MMU3 Conversion kit also modified the location of the filament sensor while the MK4S did not.  That's the primary difference I believe.  Likely we will need to wait for an official MMU3 modification for the Core One nextruder.  I'll be keeping all my little pieces / parts in case this is something that can be done with the existing MMU3 upgrade parts.

So it seems its a disassembly of the MK4, cleanup of the parts, and then pretty much a standard kit build for the Core One?

apparently so, I hope it is simply the result of a cut&paste to create the first version, there are a number of changes I sure hope will be applied to the instructions in newer version. My biggest problem at the moment is the uncertainty on the old-style display. I ordered a kit for the old-style display, but the instructions don't mention the old display... I guess by the time the kit ships (june in my case) the instructions will be a little more detailed...

I can't say for sure (not having either the upgrade kit nor the old style display), but I imagine the big thing would be a different back cover and where you re-attach the faston connector. You might want to compare the difference between the two displays on the MK4->MK4S upgrade instructions.

That is not the point... I am interested about the readiness of the old style display'  kit version I have ordered and is supposed to ship with batch 7...

Someone mentioned on the Kit waiting list thread that they heard that only the new LCD kits are ready and shipping, the old LCD kits should be "soon". I wonder if that is why the instructions don't mention the old LCD yet...

Take that with as large a grain of salt as you'd like. 😉

Well that’s interesting as I have an old style display and I’m in Batch 1.  Guess we’ll see how that goes.
