Who knows in the future but for now the blog post states,

"The conversion can be done only using the MK4S parts, not the MK4 because all components in the MK4S upgrade kit are also used for the conversion." 

So I assume you will need to do the 4 -> 4S upgrade first, at least that's what I am doing.

Hmm just done a VERY rough estimate and it will cost around £700… so about the price of either a kit mk4s or another core one kit. Guess I’ll be boxing up all of my spare parts (and taking apart my original enclosure) and just ‘storing away’

The MK4S conversion kit makes sense, and is a welcome addition, for those who already own the MK4S.

However, when you start factoring in other printers, upgrading to the MK4S so you can convert to the Core One, etc, it doesn't make sense financially. In such cases you are better off just purchasing the Core One kit to start with, as it will work out more cost efficient as well as give you a spare printer to either use or re-sell......

Hmm but the upgrade to mk4s and then to Core one is cheaper by over £300. PLUS and this is a very important point, it is easier to sell an upgrade over an additional printer to my better half. 

you never know, future upgrades may free up parts

Ah well if you're saving that much then yeh I'd deffo go ahead!

So thats MK4 > MK4s > Core One, and you still save £300? If thats the case, that's pretty good!

Although another question - if you get the MK4>MK4s upgrade kit, would it be easier NOT to upgrade, but keep all the parts handy so that when you get the Core One conversion kit you have all the parts to jump straight to the Core One?......if that makes sense? So rather then doing the actual MK4>MK4s upgrade, you jump straight to the Core One, considering you have all the MK4S parts to hand already........ can't see why it wouldnt work, and would save the extra work of having to do 2 upgrades......although personally I do find the physical upgrade part the fun bit! lol

Absolutely yes, this is the plan - I’ll try to get everything at the same time - hopefully with the camera too because my current tapo c120 is likely to no longer fit inside as it currently does with my enclosure. 

now, what can I use the enclosure for?

Im interested to see the camera specs etc - that's something i wouldn't mind getting too......
