RE: INDX is coming for CoreOne?
Taking away a bit from the elegance of the INDX solution I know - and would require some mechanics - but I would like at least 12 tools - so think I will do this on my C1-INDX.
See this YouTube video for some of the complications this would introduce...
RE: INDX is coming for CoreOne?
good lord, 12 tools? It's time consuming enough to load up the 5 tools on my XL, let alone 8 lol. And doing a tool offset calibration on 12 tools.... wow, that would suck lol
RE: INDX is coming for CoreOne?
Really look forward to finding out how they do end up doing the offset calibration. Hopefully 12+ tools would only need to be loaded once - and mostly just left loaded - as long as the filament doesn't start going brittle. Would really like more than that though - as would like multiple nozzle sizes on 12 colours - so working on solution for that too - hopefully without adding any more PTFEs.
RE: INDX is coming for CoreOne?
yeah I do a lot of tpu printing so leaving filament loaded generally isn't an option. Loading 4 or 5 filaments is a process. I just started a 4 color tpu print this morning. The idea of doing 12.... just sucks haha.
RE: INDX is coming for CoreOne?
If the ptfe routing is done flexibly it might be possible to take off the whole tool,PTFE and filament roll and put the whole lot in an air tight container with desiccant etc.
5 colour TPU prints - sounds interesting.
RE: INDX is coming for CoreOne?
Yeah I know, I'm a glutton for punishment. I still need to get a good profile for this red(polymaker) tpu. it was the first tpu spool I bought years ago when I was first playing with tpu on the MK3S. I may just chuck it. easy button(relatively) tpu printing is Sainsmart tpu. I just didn't have any red for this print.
TPU is what I print with most, so anything that promises better tpu support(like the INDX extruders) is something I'm keen to check out. I just didn't see getting in on the preorder for it until I could see if it had real legs or not.
RE: INDX is coming for CoreOne?
Core One = 8 tools max.
Core One L = Currently undecided but between 8-10 tools max. There isn't space for any more than 10.
RE: INDX is coming for CoreOne?
I'm also waiting for this system to be rolled out. I think the initial set of up to four colors will be the most popular choice. And the ability to add colors in the future makes this idea very attractive. What I hate about Bamboo is the aforementioned waste bag.I saw a comparison of waste amounts somewhere. It's ridiculous that some prints have more waste than the print itself.Besides, how long does it take to completely change the color? Four hours instead of 12?
That's tempting.
RE:
I'm not so much for colors as different filaments so 4 will be enough for me. I think 8 will look like a small town in London while 4 will look like a spacious property in North America. I hope that someone gets that analogy in any case, I'll just let it be.
RE: INDX is coming for CoreOne?
I will probably only buy the set of 4 unless you say you can't make an upgrade that you can also expand.
Which I don't believe.
I have never used my MMU more than 4 colors.

I don't see waste as the problem - as you can either do 'flush-into' objects - although that does usually increase print time, or for purge waste or test prints you can always squash them into flat sheet and use them for something useful.
I see the biggest issue with single nozzle multiplexers - AMS/MMU etc. as mainly print time - some of my 12 colour prints take several days - even on an H2D - so really looking forward to the C1-INDX ( and to a lesser extent the H2C).
RE: INDX is coming for CoreOne?
Flush/purge into objects isn't a great idea with soluble filaments though, or if you're mixing filament types. When I was using the MMU2S(prior to getting the XL) I had to purge so much to make sure that the bvoh/pva was out of the nozzle before it started again after tool change. And TPU wasn't even really a thing for MMU2. The single nozzle multiplexing solutions are at best a kludge.

Agreed on soluble filaments or multi materials - not really practical on a single nozzle printer - due to amount of purging required. IDEX, toolchanger or INDX essential.
PS/ I bought a roll of PVA filament back in about 2018 when I first got an MMU2 - and have never found I needed it - so it is still unopened.
RE: INDX is coming for CoreOne?
I use BVOH instead of PVA. PVA is mostly only good with PLA. I have a spool of aquasys 120 that I have used as well.

Any new news for indx?

Any new news for indx?
Why would there be? Founders Edition to start shipping from Bondtech at the end of Q1, Prusa probably to sell it sometime in Q2.
RE: INDX is coming for CoreOne?
Maybe more information about the loadcell, filament sensors, content of upgrade kit (e.g with or without dry boxes) or everything else…

RE: INDX is coming for CoreOne?
Personally, as a Founder Edition buyer, I haven’t received any news from Bondtech yet, and I was wondering when they will contact us to let us choose how many tools we would like.

I don't think anything new has been announced yet. There will be a loadcell and a "filament runout sensor" according to https://www.bondtech.se/indx-by-bondtech/ (The "Specifications" section of the page has changed since FormNext, I believe.) But I would be very surprised if the dry boxes were part of the kit.
Edit: Look at the price for the INDX kit, and specifically the difference in price between 4 and 8 nozzles. Then look at the price for Prusa's dryboxes. Including those in the price just won't pan out.
RE: INDX is coming for CoreOne?
I was thinking the same, the 'upgrade kit' is going to be a Prusa only thing I would of thought, the founders kit is a separate affair iirc.
I've managed to bag a founders spot, but heard nothing from Bondtech as yet. Not expecting anything till maybe the end of Feb or beyond either. Just crossing my fingers and toes that it comes free from problems, but I think that is a little naive.
