So you expect the consumer to be willing to pay extra money just for a prusa logo on the INDX? With the hardware staying exactly the same that's literally worth nothing at all.

Just two days ago he was telling everyone how INDX on the Core One wasn't going to happen 😂

As long as money is concerned, Prusa can sell under his own brand and pay fees to Bondtech.

Not necessarily. I am pretty sure Bondtech will want the visibility for their own brand.

But that can be arranged, and I am sure the companies have already found a mutually agreeable solution. It might be something like "Bondtech INDX inside", or the current co-branding of "E3D Prusa nozzles".

Probably been asked/answered, but the nozzles are they hardened as standard? If not any idea on prices for hardened nozzles?

They are made of steel. (Which is beneficial for inductive heating due to its ferromagnetic properties -- the material also get heated via magnetic losses when exposed to an alternating electromagnetic field). Hence much tougher than brass. But no additional extra-hard coating is offered at this time, to my knowledge.

So can I print abrasives then  ?

Does that really refer to the INDX nozzles? Bondtech's "Core Heating Technology", if I understand it correctly, means using an internal steel tube for toughness, surrounded by copper (or brass?) for even heating. That does not seem to make sense for inductively heated tubes, where the steel is what gets actively heated most efficiently.

Would you have a link to the page where you found the quote?

Thanks!

I guess I don't understand what "CHT" actually means. I have found pure brass nozzles with some coating under the same designation as well now. Is CHT = Core Heating Technology just marketing blurb, or does it describe a specific technical feature?

CHT is a high flow nozzle

Doesn't CHT refer to the geometry of the nozzle ? That's what I thought.

CHT is a high flow nozzle

So it seems "CHT" really refers to the channel and inlet geometry only, not the material. In which case it's just the "hardened" in the "hardened with CHT" spec which is relevant here? Which presumably means "hardened steel" -- which in turn means heat-treated, rather than coated in some way.

It does, I guess "Core Heating Technology" just happens to also be a way they could  describe the INDX if they hadn't already used it to describe the filament splitting stuff in their nozzles.

During the interview with Grant and Olaf, Olaf said something to the effect of yeah, it has our CHT tech in the nozzles, so 40 mm/s flow rate is possible (paraphrase from hell, but along those lines).  Which also reiterates that an INDX upgrade could be a significant upgrade in some ways  even if you only use 1 tool...

No I expect to have one supplier that takes responsibility of the entire solution.

Prusa is willing to compete with BL and this is a breakthrough.

That's what is happening, as Prusa will provide support for this kit, officially. Software-wise themselves and as a hardware supplier also in collaboration with Bondtech.
