I'll be interested to see how this all shakes out over the next several months   if things look promising after folks start getting these, I might jump on.   None of this solves my main problem with the core one currently which is trying to print soft tpu like Ninjaflex or Chinchilla.  It's the main reason I'm holding off on upgrading my second MK4S to Core One.  Ninjalfex prints ok on MK4S and the XL, but the core one... not so much.  I've put the nextruder mods in but I've not gone as far as modifying the filament path etc to so there is less drag.   It would be amazing of the bondtech extruders actually printed soft tpu well on top of providing the tool changing.

Lots of promises in the article but if it delivers this much, without the usual Prusa teething period, it'll be welcome.

I'm quietly reserved about being part of the beta testing... I mean pre-ordering group!

It looks like Bondtech has really gotten into the Prusa spirit, with pre-orders, crashing website, and deliveries that will "start in late Q1". 😎  Well, at least they are not taking the full money upfront but just a down-payment. I certainly wish them the best, and a smooth product roll-out in particular!

I have not watched any videos -- was the lid solution for the Core One with INDX on display already?

From the images I saw, it looked like the MMU3 top was being used

The tank turret? Ouch. Well, maybe that was a provisional solution; they still have a few months.

That certainly does sound like an improvement. Assuming the initial reviews/feedback are good once folks actually start getting them, I might just give it a shot. It certainly disappointing that prusa has had to resort to third-parties for extruders. As I was a long time user of of the MMU2S, the tool changer on the XL was a welcome change. it really was a game changer. I hope this functions equally as well. I'll be looking to you all to give gloves off opinion once you get them. The desire to have reliable ninjaflex and softer prints with the option to also have tool changing has had me looking around. Normally I'm a died in the wool prusa fan boy, but there are a good deal more players on the field now so I'm keeping an eye out. I do love that that can continually upgrade my prusas, and it's one of the things that keeps me on prusas, but a little competition is generally a good thing.

Yes, it looks terrible. Like a Fiat Panda 😅

Ya, can't say it's the sexiest look. Personally I'm a fan of industrial design and understand up until recently Prusa were really just focused on functional design... but I'll be honest with all the creative minds in Prusa, you'd have hoped they would have come up with something a little bit more refined in the last 12 months

Hopeing Voxel3d's solution allows for top mount to refine the look a bit better!

Eh, I threw the money at them. Right now it's more like an interest free loan to them anyway. 😉

By the time things need to be finalized hopefully there will be more clarity.

I also pre-ordered. My only gripe is that what to do with the Nextruder, Diamondback and ObXidian nozzles I have. I guess the price of the nozzles I have, worth a Bondtech upgrade by itself... Maybe Prusa could offer an Mk4s kit without the extruder 🙂 I would buy it for sure.

This isn't really what I was expecting when I heard "INDX".  Don't get me wrong; I'm very happy to get a tool changer, but I was expecting two active tools at a time.  Does "INDX" mean something besides "INdependent Dual eXtruders"?

Tank turret has room for manoeuvre to make it smaller according to the livestream. Its only to accommodate the tube paths to the head. Nextruder looks to getting binned off with bondtech offering taking its place. No word on CoreOneL integration as of yet, but it will be coming with a potential of 10 tool heads IIRC.

Automatic extruder adjustment for soft TPU.

Cooling is needing refinement according to Olaf, but will be fine for the production models.

Pre-order payments can be cancelled and refunded upto 2 weeks prior to  shipping, which is a nice touch.

Fingers crossed it goes smoothly...... 😉

I think the cover would actually look better if the raised area extended over the whole width of the printer. But less height would be nice.

And it really should be transparent, with a slanted, unobstructed viewing area in the front -- the INDX tools obstruct the view of the print area, especially in a fully loaded unit. Maybe the vent(s) can be moved to the sides of the raised cover to keep the front clear?

RE:

I gave them my $150 deposit but I feel like I just contributed to a kickstarter (minus the fact I can get a refund if I choose). We will see if it indeed arrives in "late Q1". I'm half tempted though to keep my U1 pre-order. Then use the C1 as-is as a work-horse printer. And then something else U1 (or H2C maybe) for the things I need a tool changer for.

Absolutely. When they removed the cover, it was just an 'L' bracket from what was shown with notches to support the Bowden/PTFE tubes down to the print head. Looked a little like a guitar string bridge 😅

Couldn't really tell from the livestream but I think it retains the clear perspex lid. If not they should, as tpunsay offer a transparent cover sized equally to the machine to give full visibility. You're seeing sod all from the front of it now 😅

Same... I have 3 diamondback and 2 ObXidian. Which in total is the price of the INDX system. Maybe someone will invent a Voron derivative that can use the left-over nextruder.

Everything they design has a Soviet/Steampunk esthetic for sure. As long as it works, I'm OK with it.

RE: INDX is coming for CoreOne?

I'd love to support the INBXX and will probably purchase one.  But the quick no-build option might  just be to grab another couple of those creality space pi 4 spool dry boxes with the 2 independent dry zones.  The top loading design though (like the AMS-ish) means they'd have to be on separate shelves or on the table front to back to have 2. So the INBXX is definitely more suited to the task.
