RE: For those getting the INDX are you getting the 4 head or 8 head?
the only thing that gives me a used case for eight is a need for multicolor… four isn’t enough and eight is the next step up.
I printed a ton of Christmas related stuff this year and generally needed at least five colors.
RE: For those getting the INDX are you getting the 4 head or 8 head?
Four. I think most multi material use cases are gimmicks. But there are new filaments like tullomer that have low temp profiles (300 c nozzle, 120 c bp, 60 c ct) that allow you to print within an intermediate material like pc and give it a lot more strength more akin to something like continuous fiber reinforced nylon. But tullomer is 300 bucks per spool. Suddenly, indx starts to make sense because I can print my drone frame in pc blend with tullomer structural infill and not waste any of that high cost material. But I don’t see myself using more than two nozzles in one print. And one of the 4 nozzles will be a fine one for my kids miniatures like Battletech so I don’t have to swap. What a pain today.

I am waiting on pricing to make my decision on the head number. Im definetly getting Index but will wait to answer the pole

You can check the prices on the website, they are available now)

I'm getting 8 because I'm surrounded by b**bu twats at work who all have 8 with 2 AMS's and get all smug when they tell me what they can print. I'll get 8 and show them my lack of "poop" 😛

i'm pretty sure I only have seven printheads at one time with the H2 C… But there's no doubt about it. Getting eight print heads is the way to go. If you're not getting the big one, then it's probably not worth doing because you don't get all the cool functionality quite the same way.
I will probably replace my desk printer with a core one L when it comes out even though it's stupid expensive
RE: For those getting the INDX are you getting the 4 head or 8 head?
My intent is to go with 8 tools, with 8x USS Drybox. I'll be holding off for a while to see if they will make it available with a mix of nozzles as I was hoping to have 2 of those 0.25mm. I currently have a selection of nozzles and I've found 0.4 hardened, 0.4HC and 0.25 are the ones that get the most work. My 0.6 and 0.8 are used rarely in contrast but if it proves relatively easy to keep larger nozzles as cold-swappable I might add those too to mirror the selection I currently use.

I picked up the reality dryer with four spools per unit… And the plan was to use that instead of the bolt on the side spools. figured that would allow me to dry at the same time I was printing, even though I will end up with fairly long PTFE tubes.

I started designing a rack to hold my Polymaker dryboxes. Irony is it won't fit on on the Core One build plate so have to print it on the H2D. I have all the hardware to build an INBXX but I might pass on it.
I have the Creality Space pi 4 as well so that may be an option.
I can't see spending $250 on 8 USS dryboxes so will work with what I have.
RE: For those getting the INDX are you getting the 4 head or 8 head?
as someone who has already got an 8tool(plus a new core one+ kit) on order(day one!!!), why would you choose to pass on the INBXX?? i had been planning on getting it and built before the 8tool+kit start shipping.

Mindblowing the prices for what is basically Tupperware
RE: For those getting the INDX are you getting the 4 head or 8 head?
I don't really see the point of those dry boxes. Sure, if all you have is a couple of spools of filament, this is probably a nice way to keep them dry for storage. Not so useful if you have dozens of filaments in active use. Or to print TPU or other hygroscopic filaments, but then again, I routinely print TPU without a dry box, after drying them in a proper dryer.
I'd be much more excited if those boxes were actually active dryers, so I could dry a spool and then print directly from it.
Given how often I change filaments I can't see myself put dry boxes on my INDX printer. Well, maybe one for hygroscopic material.

- I already have large investment in PolyMaker dryboxes so will use/adapt those
- INBXX has gone through several design iterations so I'm not building it (again) until the design is stable
- The Core One is not my main printer. Will be relegated to occasional multi-color, experimenting with INDX etc but will mostly sit idle
RE: For those getting the INDX are you getting the 4 head or 8 head?
I will be similar with the creality 4 spool dryer on the left side and 4 USS boxes on the right. It gets pretty humid here in Wisconsin. I have ordered the 8 head version.

I will receive the 8 as well but really only plan to use 4 at a time. I'll be experimenting with CMYK PLA which doesn't really need a dry box to print from. The only use for a drybox on an INDX would be for PETG, PCTG and TPU if you live in a moderately humid environment and want to keep the filament loaded. If you lived (for example) in Arizona then you really don't need the dry boxes except for maybe esthetic reasons.

as someone who lives in and deals with the deserts of far west texas and southern new mexico... that belief is a bit wrong, regular a/c increases the humidity to higher than 20%, many places including homes and businesses use "swamp"/evaporative cooling which increases the humidity dramatically, even just overnight can jump the humidity to well over 20%.
it is true that it is often quite dry(my hydrometer said 5% yesterday), it isn't uncommon for it to be more than 20% which is the target i hear you don't want your filament to hit.
