Footprint & Stability on ~40cm Deep Surface
Hey everyone,
I'm getting the Prusa Core One, but I need to make sure it fits on my IKEA cupboard, which is only 40 cm deep. I know the overall depth of the printer is 44.4 cm (I'm not sure if that measurement includes the display), but I'm wondering how far apart the "feet" are (I assume there's some protruding feet under it). If the feet sit within 40 cm, I might still be able to make it work. If not I'll figure something out or put it somewhere else.
Could anyone with the printer measure the distance between the front and back "feet"? Also, do you think a slight overhang would cause stability issues?
Thanks in advance!
RE: Footprint & Stability on ~40cm Deep Surface
The Core One comes with 2 30cm rubberized strips that are the feet. They install in the middle of the depth. When Installed the width is about 35cm. So a 40cm deep surface should work to hold it. The box is 40cm deep with 6cm more for the display.

I don’t have mine yet but as I understand it you have fans on the back that need at least some minor space behind the printer for airflow, it may still work, assuming symmetry 35cm between feet and 40cm depth could give you 2,5cm behind the printer if you put the feet all the way towards the forward edge. All that is a bit theoretical as I don’t have the printer yet.

I was wondering yesterday about the depth... If the display was included or not. Thanks for asking first, haha.

Is your cupboard placed directly in front of a wall, or does the cupboard itself have a back? The printer needs at least a couple of centimeters for ventilation in the back -- for the chamber fans, but also the power supply and electronics box.

I'm planning on placing the printer on top of it, so there's no back (a variation fo this thing https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/besta-storage-combination-with-doors-black-brown-lappviken-stubbarp-black-brown-s89139490/)
It's also not flush against the wall so I think there's gonna be enough room for it to breathe (otherwise I can still pull it out a bit further I guess)
Thanks for the measurements @vhubbard ❤️
