Firmware roadmap?

Since firmware 6.3.0 has been released for the Core One, Prusa has released or prepared three firmware iterations for the other printers -- 6.2.1, 6.2.2 and now 6.2.3 alpha. Those 6.2.x versions came out just a week or two apart. Is that a normal release cadence for Prusa, or an indication that they are struggling with 6.2 stability and releasing one incremental fix after another rapidly?

I would have hoped that the next version after 6.3.0 is either 6.3.1 (with some ad hoc bug fixes for the Core One where required), or 6.4.0 (bringing the divergent firmware versions for Core One and the other printers together again). Apparently that's not the case so far.

Does Prusa publish a firmware roadmap which  gives visibility into what they are working on and what they plan to release next?

RE: Firmware roadmap?

No roadmap. I don't see the release cadence for 6.2.x as particularly unusual. 6.3 for C1 was clearly driven by the need to support unique features such as chamber temperature. And given how they're struggling to meet their shipping timetable, I can perfectly understand why they don't want to futz around with the firmware on those machines they're frantically trying to get out of the door.

I suspect that they'll skip 6.3 for non-C1 machines and will try to converge again with 6.4. But that's pure speculation.

RE: Firmware roadmap?

With all the bugs that this 6.30 still has, it should be possible to provide an update.

- Bed levelling nok

- Nozzle cleaning nok

- Collision message after a restart for up to 3 minutes.

- Volume for certain routes

- MMU support - helps to eliminate the nozzle cleaning error.

- Deactivate waiting time before printing

- Adjust the temperature of the casingetc.

etc...

A lot of little things that could do with an update after 6 weeks.
