Existing MMU Nextruder & MMU3

I had the MK4S with MMU3, everything in the final state, i.e. the Nextruder had the MMU3 changes done to it. That MK4S is now upgraded to a Core One, which has been working great for a while - no issues whatsoever.

I read the MMU3 Core One assembly manual. For my own reasons I want to do the physical setup completely differently, that is I will have the MMU3 somewhere else, will do my own buffer and spool solution.

Am I correct in assuming that this should work and be the minimal steps to connect the MMU3:

- Do the physical setup whichever way I see fit.

- Connect the cable to the buddy board as per instructions.

- Connect a 450mm PTFE between MMU3 and Nextruder (the length of the "lite" version from the manual).

- Enable MMU3 in the menu.

- Do the setup as in the manual (set the length to 450mm).

- No changes whatsoever to the Nextruder or the MMU3 as those have been done during the MK4S days already.

Have I missed anything?

RE: Existing MMU Nextruder & MMU3

You should be fine if it's the same extruder that was previously also using the MMU3. Just make sure the filament sensor assembly has been removed - ie, the ball and magnet etc - and the side door has been changed to the MMU3 version.......
