When ordering the panels for the COREBOXX from Blurolls it comes with a longer cable. I don't know if contacting Blurolls they can sell the cable separate from the kit for those who can't wait for Prusa.

As announced by Prusa, a longer MMU cable will be available by the end of June 2025.

So it should be possible to install the MMU in the right-side recess.
The standard PTFE tube could retain its original routing (with clearance) and be connected directly to the MMU selector.

Does anyone know how much longer this cable is? I don't see that detail in the announcement, nor in the description of the community version of the MMU3. I offered up the MMU3 on the top-right side of the CORE One and estimated that an additional 30cm to 50cm might be needed in that location. I did join the help chat queue to ask, but the wait time was just increasing the longer I waited!
According to the support chat, Prusa's community version cable is 800mm between the connectors. Without dismounting my MMU3 again, I estimate that the original cable is ~600mm, so I believe that 800mm isn't quite long enough for mounting the MMU3 on the top-right frame rail. I'd want to check more carefully though before ruling that out. The spool recess might be slightly closer though.
Not sure whether that is possible. Can the MMU reliably feed filament through the sharp 90 degree curve of the Teflon tube (which is required to keep the original lid in place)?
I suspect that it would cope with that bend. There's significant resistance from the MMU-revised filament sensor at the Nextruder, and it copes with that fine, so I think it'll cope with that 90 degree bend.

Prusa's MMU solution replaces that 90 degree bend with a straight entry of the filament into the Nextruder. And it adds that bulky hood to provide extra room for the wide curve of the Teflon tube. (That hood does not actually cover the MMU, which sits behind it. It seems that it only covers the moving Teflon tube.)
Yeh that's my concern. When loading filament mine usually gets stuck at that point and I have to force it a couple of times to get it through - there's no way the MMU could reliably load via that bend IMO.....

Apparently it's 70cm long, so barely any longer than the stock cable as far as I can tell. So I think anyone aiming to move the MMU to the top-right of the CORE One will need to find a way to make a bespoke cable - although I haven't seen any specs yet for the connectors/wire gauge etc.

There seem to be several AliExpress traders who are selling this. Try putting part of the description (e.g. "Blurolls Prusa MMU3 Cable for Prusa MK3.5") into the search bar - perhaps one of the other listings will ship to Iowa.

Personally I would go for option 2, simply to save desk space. Height is not really a problem, but putting all filament roles to the side would be problematic. There is a LOT of space needed. Almost double the amount of the printer itself. Also the depth needed for option 1 is more than the depth of the printer, so that also would increase the footprint considerably.
So for now I go for option 2. It would be nice if they add a dry unit inside to keep the filament from collecting moisture.

I've only skimmed the images in those instructions, but am I right that the 'blob' doesn't enclose anything, not the MMU, not the spools? It appears to be just a space for the bowden tube to move around in?
If that's the case then I think I prefer dancan13f's solution, and I'm tempted to pop round to the local plastics company to have a new top cover made with the necessary cutout.

The acrylic top cover is easily cut with an OLFA PC-L (or equivalent) plastic cutter.

Thanks, yes, but I would probably prefer to keep the original cover uncut, in case I want to revert. A replacement would be complicated slightly by the ventilation slots, but my local plastics place can work from a PDF drawing. Have Prusa provided such a drawing yet?

Perfect - thank you! I'm sure I can export that in a format suitable for the local plastics guy. I think he uses some program from Corel, but I know he can work with my PDFs.

I'm not so sure. With the 'Blob' solution the filament passes from the selector to the Nextruder just like the MK4s - so into the nextruder directly from above. Otherwise you would need to keep that 90degree bend above the nextruder, which could be a trouble spot. I know my filament can get stuck when loading with that tight bend every now and then. I personally feel it would be more reliable to eliminate the bends completely, keeping the filament path as straight as possible.

DXF files are the best for laser cut companies. You can easily get through Onshape.

That may be a consideration, I agree. I've personally not had any trouble with the bend above the Nextruder, and I know that the MMU drive gear can provide quite a strong push. It seems to work OK in dancan13f's videos. Perhaps he can comment on his experiences now he's been using it a while.

DXF files are the best for laser cut companies. You can easily get through Onshape.
Agreed, although from past experience with this company I know that he prefers PDFs. No matter though, I've used OpenSCAD to generate both, PDF and DXF.

@iftibashir's thoughts are relevant; that said, I've been using the MMU3 on the CORE ONE for over a month and haven't encountered any filament issues. Initially, I used my custom profile, and since May 27th, I've been using the official PRUSA profile with firmware 6.3.3. The latter has significantly improved cleaning tower management and filament extraction at the end of the print. My design also helps with filament flow thanks to a movable platen that allows the PTFE tube to follow the back-and-forth movements of the movable arm.
