Core One HT?

I was going to leave off the "?" and make the title more "click bait" but...

Would a Core One HT be of interest?

  • 450° hot end (400° will be available soon but why not 50 more?)
  • 90° actively heated and insulated chamber
  • 140° print bed
  • Here is the speculation bit... < $2500

About 8 months ago there was the Elyarchi Alcheman kickstarter for $699 but it looks like it's not going to happen.

RE: Core One HT?

It would collide with their professional printer series i guess, but It would be great if they did it. I would defintiely trust them more than random chinese kickstarter when it comes to have very high heat electronics in my garage/workshop, it can go seriously wrong. Though the use case for the most expensive plastics like PEEK is very limited/specific, so im not exactly sure how many have use for it. But properly printing PPS for example would be really nice, and maybe even try PEKK which isnt as complicated to print as PEEK. Though with the expensive filaments, nowdays it might almost be cheaper to get it printed out of aluminium on some offshore site.

RE: Core One HT?

The ‘HT Hotend Upgrade (for CORE One/+ and CORE One L)’ kit is on the prusa Shopping list.

To implement a genuine C1+ HT, investments must be made not only in the ‘We heat’ department, but also in ‘We resist heat’. By that I mean good housing insulation (otherwise the chamber heating works very inefficiently), heat-resistant printed parts, stable PID control for active chamber heating, NEMA insulation/cooling, outsourced Love board, heatsink cooling????

I am currently trying to convert my Prusa XL to HT. In terms of cost, we are roughly in the price range you specified.
