Core one and filament in the plastic container

Due to high humidity in my area I was mostly storing filaments in cereal plastic boxes with silica gel and some ball bearings installed for good rotation (e.g. see this). Then with my MK4S I would just put the box on top of the lack enclosure, remove the PTFE tube and feed the filament to the extruder head from the top.

Now I ordered my core one, which has a very different setup (filament roll on the side, feeling through another PTFE tube).

Did anyone found a solution which is compatible with storing filament in a plastic box?

RE: Core one and filament in the plastic container

While I don't have a plastic box, my setup is pretty much similar to what you described. Actually, I thought of cereal containers first, but couldn't find one in a suitable size, so I ended up with a second-hand ammo can. I placed it beside Core One and connected these two with a PTEF tube. Inside the can, there are rollers for the filament spool and some silica gel packs for moisture control.

It is not a perfect solution. Rolling resistance is more than I would like, as I had to resort to plastic axles at the last minute instead of metal ones, but that has not caused any issues while printing.

If you don't need the top panel for temperature reasons, it is possible to bypass the side filament sensor and connect the filament/PTEF tube straight to the extruder. I wouldn't necessarily recommend that, but it is an option. I tested that with one particularly tricky filament, and it worked OK.

So changing the filament means unloading the filament, opening the box, replacing the filament in the box and potentially putting the fresh desiccant?

Or do you have multiple boxes? If so, how do you change the filament box?
