Confusion over print sheet compatibility
When I ordered my core one I did not add the additional sheets.
Recently I made a separate order to get satin and PP sheets separately.
What I didn’t realise though is that although I filtered to print sheets > core one, the sheets I ordered actually state not compatible with core one
I couldn’t find a core one specific set of sheets in the store
Is the listing a mistake and the sheets should be marked as compatible, or are the sheets for core one only selectable when you buy the printer, and not available in the store separately?
RE: Confusion over print sheet compatibility
Hi David,
I think this is an oversight.
as you say, the only print sheet that says it is Core one compatible is the Smooth sheet,
However all of the mk4, mk3, mk2.5 sheets are the same size and the heading lumps the Core One in the same group.
I will ask for confirmation,
regards Joan

RE: Confusion over print sheet compatibility
I would think this is an oversite as well or at least I hope it was, as I also placed a separate order for a Satin sheet to use with the C1 upgrade kit I ordered.
RE: Confusion over print sheet compatibility
I think it does state somewhere on the C1 description that it uses the same build plates as the MK4, and again under the build plates themselves it has Core One stated underneath if it is compatible. What did confuse me on ordering a kit, was that the option for an additonal build plate. I took this to mean that for a small or no addtional cost, you could have a build plate supplementary to the satin supplied with the printer? I'm still unsure, but have options to buy in the UK should I need to buy another.

The Core One comes with the smooth sheet, not the satin. The option for additional sheets when ordering are at the same cost as ordering the sheet separately.
RE: Confusion over print sheet compatibility
I'm using my MK3 plates on the core one no issues whatsoever, so any from MK3 or 4 will work.
Normal people believe that if it is not broke, do not fix it. Engineers believe that if it is not broke, it does not have enough features yet.
RE: Confusion over print sheet compatibility
Yep, I'm 100% sure that you can use all the standard Prusa size sheets.
I also asked Make-O-Rama to check, if the door closes, when using a Bambu sized sheet and she did a short about it.
Yes, Bambu sized sheets fit too!
RE: Confusion over print sheet compatibility
The Core One does use the same size build plate as the Mk2, mk3 and MK4 printers, the smooth sheet has outline printing on the steel sheet,
I believe the Core One era Powder coated Build plates will have different screen printing to show the enlarged Print area, meanwhile the earlier printer build plates will fit the Core One.

RE: Confusion over print sheet compatibility
I use my old sheets coming from my MK3S and MK4/S and also "without printer branding" purchased separately on my CORE One without any distinction. In fact the steel sheet coming with the CORE One is still wrapped. 😆
As mentioned, the print area outline doesn't match with the CORE One specs. It doesn't matter excepted for non-smooth sheets where the silkscreen leaves its imprint at the bottom of the prints. Below an example with a Satin Sheet.
I have to think to a way to gracefully remove the silkscreen without damaging the PEI itself. I think to re-print the same sample as above using a sticky material like TPU. In any case it should be possible to remove it like the intro line did it by striking out "by Jo". 🤣

Try it with PETG. It pulled almost all of my silkscreen off.

RE: Confusion over print sheet compatibility
I just bought a 3rd party MK52 textured build plate (Gold Powder Coated) from the Jungle and it is proving to be really excellent with PETG, my last one which was also a cheaper plate was not so good, it was discolouring and some of the PEI texture material was beginning to flake off, also it required multiple attempts at homing. No issues with this new one, passes cleaning and bed levelling first time, no strange patterns from previous prints left behind, adheres well and detaches prints well with flexing. No printed text on these.

Do you have a link? I’ve also been using a gold textured plate for a long time, and it’s still as good as new. It provides great adhesion with ABS too. My problem is that I bought two from AliExpress at the same time - they both looked the same in their adverts but one is great and the other has a rougher texture and isn’t as good, and I don’t know which order was which! So if you have a link to your good one that would be useful.
RE: Confusion over print sheet compatibility
So that explains the new versions. You could use the old ones, just as long as your prints remain within the older print limits, right?

Yes, exactly.
And ofc this is only important, if the object touches these areas with the first layer and you need a "pretty" bottom surface there.
