Chronic Under-Extrusion - Core ONE
Has anyone else had any severe under-extrusion issues with the Core ONE? I got the pre-assembled version and have had to adjust quite a few things out of the box. I have multiple side effects; mostly clicking/grinding filament and stringy filament. Both issues are intermittent.
Troubleshooting done so far:
Insured that the nozzle is not clogged via solvents, cold pulls and needle cleaning. Tube is not dented and is straight. Depth is set per troubleshooting steps
I've tried multiple combinations of print speeds, nozzle temps and filaments.
Adjusted idler arm for extruder to spec and out of spec during testing. Ran the planetary gearbox calibration precisely, multiple times. Reassembled gear box and inspected parts.
Bowden tube is clean and free.
Best results were from a VERY loose gearbox cover on the extruder but results still vary. I'm resorting to the community because a loose gearbox cover can't be the solution. It is so loose that it will likely cause excessive wear on the extruder components eventually.
Any input would be greatly appreciated. I'll try anything at this point.

Stringy filaments usually is the result of wet filament. Did you try to dry out the filament? Also, same problems if you run e.g. PLA and PETG? One thing you could try is to disable the external filament sensor and load the filament directly into the extruder (you may want to remove the top cover for ease of access) and see if this changes anything, ruling out any friction etc etc on the filament before it reaches the extruder.

Agreed, all of these, especially the last, can be due to wet filament. Dry the filament and try again, come back if problems persist.
