Accelerometer Direct mount question
I end up having to use the accelerometer alot and it is a pain to constantly reattach. I also notice that the friction fit heater block mount included can be a little flimsy.
For someone who knows more about input shaping, is there any reason why I should NOT directly mount it to the side of the extruder. Will increased stiffness from direct mounting mess with results? Will the increased distance from the nozzle be a problem?
RE:
I can't say for certain, but I'd suspect the calibration choice of shaper method may depend on expected resonances from the accelerometer attached to the heater block. Placing it elsewhere might give odd results. but if you do attach it elsewhere, it's easy to do two runs: one on the nozzle and one where you attach it: and if both runs give you the same ZVD 52Hz (insert your results here) for X and Y, your method should work.
