Start print before chamber is heated to nominal temperature
Hello,
i've upgrades my MK4S this weekend to a Core One. Worked well - no issues so far.
But i've a question to the chamber heat function. I print PETG with Prusament, which tries to heat the chamber to 35° before the print starts. I can skip this step by pushing a button on the touchscreen.
For short prints, this is not needed (in my opinion - worked with MK4s without the chamber with no problems). So i thought, i could change the settings for this in the filament profile.
There's under "Filament" the Point "Chamber", set to "Nominal" and 35°. Minimal was set to 0°.
The help-text of this values:
- Nominal: Required chamber temperature for the print
- Minimal: Minimal chamber temperature that the printer waits for before the print starts. This allows to start the print before the nominal chamber temperature is reached.
So i changed the "Minimal" temp to 25° (actual room temperature). I thought, the printer would wait till 25° are reached, then starts the print. If 35° are reached, the chamber fans starts spinning.
But that's not the case; i still have to skip the "absorbing heat"-Message on the Touchscreen, before the print starts.
Did i missunderstood something, or is there another way to reach what i want to do?
Thanks in advance,
Bastian
RE:
You did everything correctly regarding minimum and nominal chamber temperature. Absorbing heat is not just waiting for temperatures, it's meant to get the whole printer up to "working-temperature" to not cause slight inaccuracies.
However, I'm totally with you: it's way too long in most cases! It's a simple G-Code command and I think it's an algorithm in the firmware for the duration..
You can disable the G-Code command in the Start G-Code though.
