RE: Sad looking benchy

Caught by the update timer again

I have been doing some nextruder heart surgery today, main reason has been to try to make TPU printing a bit easier with this idler 1072020-mk4s-bogie-idler-main-plate and a magnet mod filament sensor. While in there I rebuilt the gearbox assembly and cleaned up, there were not much debris but enough to motivate a cleanup. Reassembly has gone well and all tests pass including gearbox alignment. Belts adjusted at 98/92. Dried Prusament PLA at 13% straight from the dryer. I did re-run input shaper calibration and phase stepping. First benchy likes a bit sad, my suspicion is uneven extrusion considering I have been playing with the idler, but how should the idler pressure be adjusted? Is there a procedure?

If anyone else runs into this, I managed to accidentally use a 0.6mm high flow nozzle when I thought it was a 0.4mm standard flow nozzle. Once that was corrected the benchy printed clean using the same g-code.

Yep.

I was just going to say that you also get this same problem when a nozzle wears out. For example your formally 0.4mm nozzle is now 0.8mm due to filament wear.

I am just surprised how well it printed with the wrong nozzle, I was not expecting to get anywhere close to that if the nozzle was off. Lesson learned, one change at a time makes life a lot simpler.

If I'm honest, it looks kinda cool.
