No Filament Extruded and Heat Bed Issues

I'm trying to print using the filament given in the CoreOne kit but nothing comes out of the Obxidian nozzle ? As well my heat bed doesn't go back to it's rest position, it's stuck in the middle ?

OK Butters. Before I answer your question you have to answer one of mine. So X, Y, Z and homing calibration now consistently pass? Answer this first and I will help you. You never responded on the HOMING thread whether you were successful or not. Some of us spent a lot of time helping you.

I plan on giving a explanation on that for anyone in that situation; but in short, yes HOMING passed.

Well, it's more to acknowledge to the rest of us that the help we gave you worked; that you appreciate the time and effort we provided to help fix your issue. Also, provide information on what you did that fixed your issue for the benefit of others who might run into similar problems in the future.

Do that first and I will help you with this issue.

I should have noted, that the explanation will come soon. If I can today, otherwise in the coming days.

OK, butters. I see you responded (sort of) on the HOMING thread.

So let's begin...

  1. Did all of the calibration tests pass? Does every test have a green check mark?
  2. When you insert the filament into the Nextruder, do you feel it pulling on the filament to load it into the nozzle? If not, perhaps you are not inserting it far enough.
  3. When it is purging the filament, do you see anything come out of the Nextruder?
  4. Did you confirm that the idler level is locked and that the idler tension screws are correct set?

All the Calibration tests passed, I tried to print one of the objects on the USB key, although no filament was coming out so it was essentially printing nothing but an imaginary object.

I do feel the filament being pulled into the nozzle; remember the nozzle is brand new, never used. I don't see anything coming out of the Nextruder, I tried a test whereas you increase the temps for the nozzle and see if some filament comes out; nothing this is on Prusa web site.

OK. When you load filament for the first time, the very first thing it does is purge the filament. You should see a long string of melted filament coming out of the nozzle for (I think) around 10 seconds. Then is asks you "Is the color correct". Then you are supposed to select "Yes" or "Purge More" or "Retry". So when it's at the purging stage what is happening? Until you get a proper purge you will not be able to print anything.

Also, during the purging process touch the filament where it is entering the Bowden tube. Do you feel it getting pulled into the tube?

I've purged multiple times, I feel it getting tugged at into the tub. Although, nothing comes out of the nozzle, it sounds as if something is trying too but nothing.

Ok.

  1. Is the nozzle getting hot?
  2. Open the idler lever and look inside do you see filament pushed through? I've attached a photo to show you what is looks like, I've used orange filament so you can see it clearly. Please take a similar image so I can see what it looks like.

The nozzle is hot, I now have a little temp burn mark on the finger.
