New Core One extruder jammed, and cannot find how to open idler cover
After a few successful prints with my new Prusa CORE One, I printed a larger print last night. This morning it appeared that the last 20% or so was not printed, even thought the printer reported the print as successful. It became soon clear that the extruder is no longer extruding and just making clicking noises. Based on reading existing posts and trouble shooting, I should be opening the idler cover and see if there's filament scraps to remove. However, it seems covered with this black shroud that I can't seem to remove whatsoever. There seem no screws connected, and pulling in various directions didn't do much. I don't want to break things, how do I proceed?
RE: New Core One extruder jammed, and cannot find how to open idler cover
OK, I now understand that that cover should remain in place, and the idler cover is directly in front. Duh...
However, I opened this and try to see if anything was stuck / any debris, but am unsure on what I'm seeing. See attached.
RE:
That is part of the Nextruder main plate. Can't really see it well from that angle but it could be damaged. If you can, take an image from straight at the Nextruder gear.
Two options: work with support to resolve it or fix it yourself (if that part is indeed broken).
Prusa prints them in PETG which is a very odd choice. I reprinted mine in PC Blend. I've attached the STL. If it is indeed broken you can still print a spare. You just need to guide the filament end into the nozzle with the idler door open, then close the idler door. Just print it for now with whatever PETG you have. You will need to take the Nextruder apart to replace it.
